Red POV
Why does everything ache?
W-what h-happened?
We should get up.
'Talk about a headache...'I slowly opened my eyes to a very bright light and I slammed my eyes shut then opened slower.
I saw people standing around me starring at me with wide eyes."Can I get up please?" I asked and they cleared a spot for me to get up. Every joint ached, I could feel the weight under my eyes and how tense my muscles were but I still managed to drag myself to a somewhat steady standing position.
I looked around for a moment to see buildings with perfect cube holes and robot shrapnel everywhere.
"Who took down the huge bot?" I asked in disbelief as I kicked a piece of bent metal.Everyone looked shocked and began whisper to each other until a short old woman came through the crowd.
"Are you hurt?" She asked with a plain expression, I shook my head because a few achy muscles was nothing compared to what I'm used to. "Then shoo, the lot of you! You need to get ready for the written exam."
I really should have expected that, a villain won't give a hero a break so why should we get used to having much of one.
I sighed as I walked to the written exam room, head drooping but an unintentional smile plastered on my face. W-whats up with t-the c-crazy smile?
I don't know but it won't go away...
I don't recall a joke.
'Maybe because we know we will get in?'
I stopped outside the exam door and struggled to remove the smile, it only becoming more insane looking the more I tried. I'll deal with it later...
I covered my mouth with the scarf I kept in my bag just in case. It was mostly light blue with the pattern of green, dark blue and gold stripes across it.
Damn looks like I got some blood on it...
I internally frowned at the sight of dark red stains on it, despite this I wore it anyway as the stains didn't look too out of place and weren't huge so I didn't care much.As usual I wasn't doing the test "alone" as Teal was helping, or to be more accurate I was helping and she was doing most of it. It used to be Gold who was secondary in tests but he kept getting distracted on things and by things I mean people.
When I left the tense atmosphere made even worse by a still insane smile, I sighed. The smile is still there...
A-at least its l-lessened to a g-grin...
But it would be very suspicious, although we could get away with it as many quirks here seem to effect the face with a seemingly permanent smile.
'Try biting your tongue.'
I tried to take the advice by biting on my tongue, it again lessened it, now I just look relieved which would be enough to see me through for now."Red! How did you do?" Jack asked coming up behind me with a smile.
"Pretty well I think, as usual Teal did most of it so I assume I got at least 70 p-percent. H-how about y-you?" I asked as Teal took over. It seemed thinking of one of them passed over control, as long as they don't mind of course.
"Same here! Although not everyone gets to "cheat" like you. Although I didn't notice anyone struggling with it so I assume there aren't too many idiots." Jack said cheerfully like he hadn't just judged so many people.
"Nice! Finally a good competition!" Gold fist pumped with a smile. "Perhaps we can finally get friends that understand us other than Akai and Mei." Shugo added plainly.
"We could just meet some of the people here, never hurts to have a lot of friends!" Jack suggested looking around.
"What about that guy, he looks like Shugo a little."I turned my head to who he was looking to and saw a tallish boy with a strict and posh aura as he was standing straight and his clothing was neat.
"Fine, but how do we start? We can't just walk over there and say "hi I'm Jack let's be friends." As that would just be odd." I shook my head at my statement and how dumb it was before being dragged over to him by Jack.
(A/N I actually have no idea how to talk to new people so is may be terrible.)
"That one pointer was huge! Did anyone manage to take it out on your zone?" Jack asked them with a huff.
That actually wasn't that bad."Hmm? Oh, actually yes, someone took it down in one hit in my zone. It was quite impressive!" He pushed his glasses up a little in thought, something that brought up bad memories and I felt my control slip little by little as the memories went through my head like a pendulum.
"Jack I'll see you at home..." I struggled to say as I began to leave. Jack turned to me and understood as he nodded and continued to talk.
"Hey Red!" Pony ran up beside me and skipped next to me. "Are you OK? You don't look so good." Pony asked in a worried tone.
"I'm fine..." I grunted a lot deeper then I'm used to as I clutched my chest from a sudden pain scattering my body like an extreme pins and needles.
"L-look when you have the time, we s-should meet up... H-here's my number..." She held out a piece of paper and I took it with my other hand. This took my mind off everything as the pain faded slightly.
"L-like a d-date?" I asked surprised but in a pleasant way.
Pony had a slight blush as she handed me the number but it changed to a dark shade as I asked that."N-n-no..." She muttered punching me lightly and hiding her face. "J-just to get t-to know you... Dummy."
"I'll see when I have some time. Never thought I'd get a girlfriend." I joked amused by her shocked and embarrassed expression before she took a deep breath.
"So its going to be like that! Fine, but you won't hear the end of this." She challenged as she turned and left.
Wasn't expecting that reaction...
W-wait... G-GIRLFRIEND?!
I think he was being sarcastic.
'Well at least we're happier now.'
