I woke up today, my head pounding and now I have two desperate guys chasing after me. Fun. Everything's so much fun.
I wish I'd never went to that stupid bus stop, or gone to that dinner party, and had carried a guy home, drunk, wasted, and completely burned out. I wish I'd never asked for goddamn help when I tried to take an Uber but my battery died.
(Yeong-Gi)
"And the hell does he want now?" I groaned, hearing my phone ring for the billionth time. Sighing, I reluctantly grabbed it and checked the caller ID. It's the carrot top. Pressing down on the key, I held the device up to my ear.
"Hello, you're speaking to (Y/N)." What? Did you think I was really going to voicemail the poor guy? Let him have his fun, I guess.
"(Y/N)! Are you free today? I was maybe thinking that we could get boba at a nearby shop or something," the cheerful voice rang out. I sighed as my voice softened, easing myself down on my couch.
"I'm free today, when do you want to meet up?" I questioned, propping my feet up on the coffee table. We continued to arrange the times until about thirty minutes later, when he ended the call with a "Bye! See you soon!" then hung up.
I let out an exasperated moan, trying not to pull out any hair from involuntary stress. My eyes drooped, and I pinched the bridge of my nose, forcing myself to get up off the couch and put on something presentable.
From my wardrobe I picked out a white dress shirt and black pants. I combed my hair a bit, then left everything, picked up my bag and started to head out, texting Yeong-Gi about where to meet up.
"We can meet up at Sunbucks," he wrote, via text. "It's a nice place and we can get drinks there." I nodded and smiled, giving him a thumbs-up emoji. He sent back a smiley-face. I continued the rest of my walk there, since it wasn't that far off from where I lived. The breeze tousled my locks of hair, blowing waves into the white dress shirt. I smiled in content, finally hearing peace and quiet.
That didn't last long, when someone honked their car horn at me.
"Hey hot thing!" they cat called, someone in the passenger's seat hooting. "Wanna get in the car?" I cursed under my breath, silently praying that I wouldn't have to deal with this again. I kept on walking, ignoring their shouting, until they got bored and left.
The minute I stormed into Sunbucks, I wasn't in a good mood. I spotted Yeong-Gi looking out the window, until he finally noticed me sitting down across from him. He immediately took notice of my grim expression.
"Not feeling all that well?" he chuckled, leaning forwards. I shook my head and crossed my arms, furrowing my eyebrows together. Yeong-Gi laughed lightly and slid a drink forwards.
"Here, this'll cheer you up. I got your favorite." I looked up and smiled, emotions improving by the moment.
"You remembered," I commented, taking the cup gratefully. "From the party." He nodded, sipping at his coffee, eyes crinkled in a returning smile. His green eyes looked at me intently as he set down the cup.
"I actually have something to tell you-" Our conversation was interrupted by a familiar face.
"Nol?" I turned to look behind me. Kousuke.
"Oh, and (L/N) is here too." Fuck. I slowly turned around, plastering a smile on my face. Just when I was about to enjoy Yeong-Gi's presence.
"Mr. Hirahara, you're here too." I heard Nol snort in the background. The ravenette walked towards our table and looked at me intently.
"I'm waiting for my cheesecake, so I might as well join you on your break." I could see the reluctance building up in Yeong-Gi's eyes, an awkward silence engulfing the both of us as we stared at his brother.
"What? Am I not welcome?" Kousuke noticed and began to pander around, bombing us with questions and comments.
"Actually, Kousuke, could you leave? The cashiers have been shouting your name for the past five minutes," Yeong-Gi said, pointing towards the counter. The older brother sighed and gave up, turning on his heel, grabbing his cake, and then left.
Nol and I both let out a sigh of relief as the heel of Kousuke's dress shoe was out of the building.
"Thank God, I thought it couldn't get more awkward," I groaned, taking a drink. Nol nodded, in agreement. I looked up at the ginger, gently smiling.
"Thanks for bringing me here, actually. I forgot to mention." Yeong-Gi smiled, eyes creasing and face seeming to light up.
"No problem."
