Business school was a pain. Period. The classes were fine, everything was great, but there was this one kid that I just could not stand at all.
Randulph. He was extremely strict on others, and always had for things to go his way. But the teachers always praised him, they always gave him high marks, told him that he was destined to be a heir to a company, or start a business himself.
However the thing was, he was charming. He had a sense of fashion, carried himself upright, was well built, had the smarts, talent, and an aura of someone who belonged on top. That annoyed me.
"We're expected to carry ourselves with class and sophistication," he'd always say. My heart and mind pulled in opposite directions. My brain screamed at me to not talk to him, that he would only turn me away every single time...
Yet my heart shouted, "Damn, you really expect to find a fish in the ocean as good as him, boi you better go and get ya mans!" We were close, but just sometimes he could be great, and sometimes the latter.
I was at war with myself, to say in one sentence. As someone who does business, people are always expected to follow rules to a T, locking up their desires and replacing them with sets of bars that their mind makes, allotting a person for success in the world of stocks, marketing, and product selection.
I didn't necessarily want to do business, but my goals and ambitions in life were too vast and imaginary to become real anyways. I mean, being the ruler of the fairy kingdom surely wasn't a pursue-able occupation.
Currently, I was sitting at the local student cafe, waiting for a couple groupies to arrive and join me for a study session. I took out a couple of books and set my computer to a side as I spotted them nearing the door from inside. The small bell on the door rung, indicating the arrival of my friends.
"Yo! (Y/N)!" I smiled and waved at Gun Kim, one of my close friends. He had this messy brown hair, always tied into a small top man bun, rectangular glasses and stubble always adorning his well defined face. He actually was going to get married soon, from what I had heard.
"Hey, what's up?" I high-fived him and grinned, feeling more comfortable by the moment. I looked over his shoulder and spotted Yui. I smiled at her and nodded, her presence decreasing the happiness level. She was quite smart, to say the least, but I didn't actually like her fox-like attitude to everyone. Made it seem like she was always planning something.
"Wait, wasn't there supposed to be one more-" I stopped as I looked up at the gaze of Randulph, eyes bearing into mine, immediately getting the alpha vibe. "Person..."
Gun chuckled and slung an arm over Hirahara's shoulders, pointing to him with this laid back appearance.
"Yeah, figured we'd bring him along. Since Han Yoo couldn't come, for some odd reason, I thought we'd bring along this guy!" I was flustered, and slightly intimidated by the height of this guy.
"It's fine, it's fine." I waved it off and abruptly sat, folded my hands and looked down at the papers, silently reading. Everyone else sat slowly, engaging in some forms of chatter. Not even a minute passed by and Gun tapped me on the shoulder.
"Do you want anything to drink? Tea, coffee...?" I shook my head and passed, not wanting to make myself look like a fool in front of others, stuttering while someone took my order. The male in front of me shrugged, looks of mischief lacing his features.
"Suit yourself." We continued to take our books, papers, and computers and study, meandering about in a river of subjects, starting in small debates and debacles about the methods of business in which we specialized in. A few hours had passed and I was getting tired.
Yawning, I stretched out my limbs and rubbed my eyes.
"Looks like a little kitten's getting tired," Gun teased, laughing. I furrowed my eyebrows and whacked his arm, a bit angry at the comment.
"I'm not a cat!" I growled, glaring daggers at him. The brunette laughed and got up, holding out a hand to hoist me up.
"Let's all go out for a breather. A few minutes, so we won't really dilly-dally." Yui and Randulph also got up, making my insides churn. Why'd they have to come along too? The four of us moved along the path, winding down and eventually ending up in a small square pavilion.
"Isn't this good? The sky's actually clear for once today." I smiled and breathed in the crisp air, shivering a bit.
"It's a bit cold, though. Why don't we go back in?" I suggested, looking at everyone. They all nodded and we headed back, my arms still tucked together, trying to warm myself. Halfway there, I felt a jacket covering my back.
Looking up, I was met with forest green eyes.
"Don't get cold. You'll be sick." My the edges of my lips curled up into a smile, my eyes crinkling in gratefulness.
"Thanks Randulph. You really didn't have to do this-"
"No. It's improper for me not to care for someone close to me." My face flared up, incomprehensible murmurs flying out of my mouth as I almost fainted. I wiped my mouth and cracked a grin.
"Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. Let's just head back to the cafe." The usually stoic male gave me the slightest smile and nodded, speeding up his pace. I laughed and jogged up to him.
"Wait for me!"

Bonus:
"Give me back my coat. It's not for you to keep, you know?" I sweat-dropped. Oh what was I expecting?
