My boyfriend of 7 years always liked sweet things. Cake, candy, anything that had a hell load of sugar. Tiramisu was one of his favorites. It was our anniversary today, and I wanted to surprise him by getting a whole tiramisu cake with a slice of white-chocolate raspberry from Sunbucks. I got the sweets ready, picking them up from the place where I had ordered them, a week prior. I waited at our shared apartment for him to come back. I heard the door open.
"Kousuke, hi!" I said, hugging my boyfriend. He smiled and kissed my head.
"Hello, (Y/N)." He seemed... Nervous? Is there something he wanted to talk with me about?
"Meet me at the bridge, at 5:00. There's something I want to discuss. And, wear something nice. I need to talk about something important." What? Why? Is he seeing someone else? Is he going to break up with me? I didn't know, but I would have to wait to find out.
(Timeskip)
I wore a seasonal dress, a bit revealing. I hoped Kousuke wasn't here to break up with me. I had brought the cake and the tiramisu in a bag so that would at least be a parting gift. I saw Kousuke approach the bridge, clasping his hands tightly.
"(Y/N)!" he called, hurrying over. I smiled at him.
"You look lovely, (Y/N)," he complimented, eyes raking over my figure as he kissed my hand. I giggled.
"You look dashing as always, Kousuke," I replied, looking at his steel-blue eyes, "What did you want to tell me?"
"I-I... I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore..." he said, looking down, his hands reaching his pockets. I sighed.
"I-I knew it, Kou-"
"I want to become your fiancee," he said, kneeling down on one knee, holding out a velvet box. I gasped and started to tear up.
"(Y/N), you've been the light of my life, ever since my mother introduced me to you in the most ridiculous way. I have enjoyed every single moment with you, even though some were embarrassing." Tears streamed down my face.
"You always manage to make even me smile with your witty charm and humor, making others laugh, chuckle, and even roll on the ground from never ending smiles.
"Even when we got into fights, I would always regret what I had said to you, and drink myself silly to drown out your cries of sorrow and misdeeds. I love you, (Y/N) (L/N), more than anything else.
"So, (Y/N), my beloved girlfriend for seven long, loving years, will you please marry me?"
"K-Kousuke... Yes! Yes! One thousand times, Yes!" I cried, watching him slip the silver band onto my finger. I ran into his arms and kissed him passionately. He let his tongue explore my mouth, the french kiss full of passion and want. We separated and hugged for a very, very long time.
"Kousuke... I love you so, so much..." I said, tears still gently cascading down my cheeks. He smiled and kissed away my tears.
"My love, we'll be together forever, no matter what happens, my dear," he whispered, peppering kisses all over my face.
"Happy anniversary, (Y/N)." I giggled and held up the bag filled with cake.
"For you and your 'never-ending' appetite for sweets," I said, looking at his face. I pecked his lips as he buried his head in the crook of my neck.
"How did I get someone as great as you, (Y/N)?"
"I don't know, Mr. Hirahara, how did you?" I teased.
"Oh, please. Let's just enjoy this evening, together," he said, kissing my lips gently. I smiled onto his lips, pressing them firmly together.
"I love you, Kousuke."
"I love you as well, (Y/N)."
