Chapter 1 - School Struggles

    I ran as fast as I could trying to get away from the shadow chasing me. I didn't exactly know what is was, but I didn't want to find out. This terrible feeling overpowering my body, the kind that you get when you're on a roller coaster going down a drop. Although I was freaking out internally, my body went into survival mode and kept running and running as fast as I could.

    As I kept running, I started to eventually get tired very quickly. After a while more of running, I tripped over a root sticking out of the ground! As I looked up behind me I saw a shadow of a figure, that looked like a man, but couldn't make out any features. As I kept looking up at him, I heard a ringing and the landscape around me started to become black and white and melted away into a canvas of white with windows.

    "Hey dude, are you good now? You fell asleep the entire class." I looked up to realize it was one of my best friends, Hunter.

    "Yeah I'm good, thanks." I replied while getting up from my seat.

    "Make sure to meet at the usual spot for lunch later, see you later Jasper." He said.

    "Got it, see ya Hunter." I replied back with a smile while waving. Well here goes another class to suffer through, I thought. I've been really struggling recently with school because of finals and all this random classwork that my teachers are throwing at me. I'm starting to become sleep deprived and irritated very easily. Guess i'm just going to have to deal with it for now. I should probably hurry to my next class, I thought while running down the hallways.

    "So are you guys planning anything at all for this weekend?" Hunter asked.

    "My Grandma is having her birthday tomorrow, but we can hang out on Saturday if that's cool with you guys." My friend Violet replied. She looks a bit hard to confront at first, but she's actually really nice. I met her in an art class and instantly thought that her purple colored hair was the coolest thing I had seen. She totally is able to have that look with her hair.

    "Yeah! Glad we're gonna be hanging out for once again. All this school stuff is starting to take up too much time." Hunter replied.

    "You in Jasper?" Violet turned to me and asked.

    "Obviously, I'll be at your house by 3:00 on Saturday" I replied to her.

    "Okay, cool glad we got that planned out." Hunter said with a small smile on his face. Hunter is kind of like Violet, looks like a typical popular person at school and is pretty cute, but I would never go for him because he's just my best friend. His short dark styled hair, brown eyes, and nice body. I honestly don't know how I was able to become friends with him. The best part is that he doesn't even care that I am gay. He even stood up for me one time when someone tried to make fun of me!

    I continued eating my food while having some small conversations about our finals and homework that we were all worried about. I honestly don't know how I'm going to catch up with all my work, but I guess I'll stay up even later than usual. At this moment, while we are outside eating, I get that stupid sick feeling in my stomach again. I look around and realize that It feels like I'm being watched. I looked across the road, the trees, and the buildings around but couldn't seem to see anything or anyone that could possibly be giving me this strange feeling. When I turned around once again, I saw a shadow standing behind a tree in the forest near our school.

    I started to freak out and breathe heavily, when Hunter suddenly touched my shoulder.

    "Hey, you okay? You totally zoned out on us!" He said worriedly and with a warm smile. I looked back at the tree and saw that nothing was there before looking back at him in the eyes.

    "I'm...I'm fine I guess It's just the fact that I'm sleep deprived right now." I said while laughing slightly to make them feel less worried.

    "Yeah, I totally get it Jasper." He replied, while the bell simultaneously rang.

    "Oh, well that's the bell guys! I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Violet said while getting up with her stuff and waving goodbye to us.

    "See you later Jasper, try to get some sleep please!" He said while waving to me like Violet.

    I waved bye to him with a smile on my face. Well here we go again, I thought
