For some reason, something pulled at the monster's heart as he quietly watched the human bleeding out on the floor. He couldn't just leave Tord there to die. Maybe it was because the human had made such a huge impression on him? It's not like the monster had ever even been around a single living human for more than a few minutes. He'd never had a conversation with one, or watched them sleep... or felt guilt for hurting them.

The monster kneeled down beside Tord, and gently laid the human's head on his lap. Using the little human medical knowledge the monster had picked up on, he pulled off his blue hoodie and wrapped it around Tord's head, covering his injured eye. Then, he applied pressure to the wound, to stop -or at least slow down- the bleeding.

After a few minutes, the bleeding died down quite a bit, and the monster smiled when he noticed the human starting to regain consciousness. Tord was dazed at first, but when he saw the monster's head looming above him, he let out a blood-curling scream.

Instantly, the monster was on his feet and running to a nearby steel-beam that had fallen from the roof of the warehouse for cover. His ears flattened against his head, and his tail slipped between his legs and wrapped itself around one of them. Tord continued screaming like he'd had an arm ripped off, and the monster continued hiding.

Finally, the human's screaming died down, and the monster poked his head out of his hiding spot. Tord slowly stood up, holding the monster's hoodie in place over his eye, since he assumed it was the only thing stoping him from bleeding out at the moment. He glanced over at the cowering monster, before turning his attention to the nearest exit, and walking towards it.

Ever so cautiously, the monster slid out from his hiding spot behind the steel-beam. He followed the human, since he felt like it was his responsibility to look after him and make sure he was okay. The two exited the warehouse, heading who-knows-where.

"Look, Human... I'm really sorry about your eye..." The monster apologized, rubbing his upper arm and guiltily staring down at his feet. "I swear I was only aiming for your cheek."

"It doesn't matter." Tord grumbled, not at all in the mood to forgive the thing that had taken half his eyesight. "I'm still loosing blood."

"Is there somewhere humans go to get help for injuries?" The monster asked, unsure. Usually when he was hurt, the monster would just lick his wounds clean and wait for them to heal. It's not like he had anyone who help him, anyways.

"A hospital. To see a doctor..." Tord answered, continuing his walk through the small forest that divided the monster's home from the nearby city.

"Okay!" The monster chirped, his eyes brightening ever so slightly. "I'll bring you to a hospital thing, just tell me where it is." He offered, a small smile forming on his lips knowing that the human would be okay if they got to a hospital place.

"I don't want your help!" Tord hissed, stopping in his tracks and turning to face the monster. "I can take care of myself." He said, then continued on his way with the monster following close behind.

"Stop following me." Tord told the monster, glancing back at him for a moment. The monster didn't listen.

"Stop. Following. Me." Tord repeated a few minutes later. The monster still didn't listen.

Another few minutes of being followed, and Tord had had enough. He stopped dead, and turned to the monster. "STOP FOLLOWING ME OR ELSE!" He yelled, infuriated by the monster's behaviour.

"Or else what, Human? You gonna smack me again?" The monster asked, a smug expression on his face. However, his expression quickly faded away as Tord drew his gun from his hoodie pocket.

"Hey, I said I was sorry about the eye." The monster said, raising his arms in the air in surrender. If he was in his regular form, the monster wouldn't be scared at all of Tord's gun. Since he was in his half-human form, though, the monster knew that the weapon would probably cause his body some serious damage.

"Leave. Me. Alone." Tord demanded, a fire burning in his eye as he held his gun level with the short monster's head.

"No. I like you, Human. You're different from all the other humans I've met." The monster said, even though he'd never actually met all that many other humans. Zero, to be exact.

"No, I'm not..."

"Well, from an outsider's perspective you are." The monster replied with a small smile.

"...Are you... Are you flirting with me..?" Tord asked, his face morphing into a mixture of shock and disgust.

"...What's flirting?" The monster asked, thoroughly confused by the human term.

"Acting like you love me... And complimenting me... And... STOP!" Tord hissed, baring his fanged teeth at the monster.

The monster could help but burst into a fit of laughter. "That's rich!" He exclaimed, wiping a tear from one of his eyes. "You honestly think a powerful demon like me would want to court a mere human like yourself?"

Tord lowered his gun, then gently placed it back in his hoodie pocket.

"I want to help you because I find you interesting, Human. Nothing more. I'm not "flirting" with you." The monster explained, crossing his arms.

"Just leave me alone." Tord replied solemnly, then turned and continued walking. The monster, of course, followed after him.

"Look, Human. Just let me tag along until you get help, and then I promise to leave you alone." The monster said, crossing his fingers behind his back. There was no way he was going to lose his human.

"Listen, whatever the fuck your name is... Fuck. Off." Tord said, annoyed by the persistant monster.

"Call me Tom." The monster answered with a grin. "What's your name?"

Tord let out a long sigh. "Tord." He replied.

"Tord..." The monster said, testing out the name. Yes, it was a good name for his human and got his seal of approval. "I've never heard that one before... I like it." He said with a bright smile.
