Why Did I Get Involved?

Ch. 11 The Hunt

When Tierra left her room after putting the pin onto her cloak to hold it in place, she headed back to Levi's room with the spell book In hand.

Today her mother said she was going to town to meet some old time friends with Gean. Lucky.... how come Gean got to go out earlier than she ever did, she still can't go out too, hmph!

Though it did turn out that Gean had a weak constitution, and can't do many things a normal kid can without overexherting himself.

She better find a cure for that disease in the future for Gean... and quick. But there is still a couple of years.

Once she arrived, the prince, and Levi were just leaning on the door to Levi's room, waiting for her, she presumed.

"Thank you for waiting," she thanked them.

They hummed a Mmm, and they all walked out to the front.

It was a spectacular day, the sun was not as bright and radiant, which made it not very hot, and there were also clouds hovering around too.

She trailed behind them, but suddenly they stopped. Tierra looked forward and tilted her head to see why they had suddenly stopped.

"Horses?" She spoke out on accident.

"Yes, we'll be taking horses to the forest because carriages is obviously not going to work," Levi explained.

"Ah, that's right." Tierra agreed.

Levi hopped onto a beautiful black stallion, as his highness was on a pure white one. She didn't see any other horses around, but she's not supposed to know how to ride one either because she's a girl, but the previous her did.

Can this world be any more biased?

Tierra walked up to Levi's horse, and Levi held out a hand for her.

"I do not mind if thy Lady, come sit with me," the prince asked with a dazzling smile. Levi looked shocked for a minute, but it was quickly replaced with his usual smile.

She gave back a closed eye smile, that was fake by the way, while petting Levi's horse, and replied.

"This lady does not dare and better be with her brother, I dare not dirty his highness with myself," but the hidden meaning behind her words were exactly 'I don't want to, I'd rather be with my brother, than dirty myself with someone like you', Ahem...

Prince Xander just widened his eyes, but his smile got wider.

Tierra grabbed a hold of Levi's hand, and he pulled her up, she didn't want to leap up there or else she'd be revealing herself to them as a strong person with many hidden talents.

Levi smiled that beautiful innocent smile, and so she smiled back. Tierra wrapped one of her arms around her brothers waist, and they trotted into the forest alongside some guards. Tierra, of course just opened the spell book and did her best to read with the breeze.

Eh? These spells are.... in English? Does this world have English? Good thing her native language was english. The description and instructions for this book is in this world's language, Hedian,  but the spells are in English?

She looked up from her book, wait... wasn't this supposed to be just a light hunting trip? Why were they currently entering a forest that says it has magical beasts ranging from the E-J ranks? Levi should only be an early D ranked magic user, and the prince the same since they are also known as prodigies. They are still young but that's kinda low is what she thought, but who knows... it might just be her.

"Hey, brobro, why are we entering an E and up ranked forest?" She asked.

"Ah shhhh, no one will know. Well... I kinda wanted to impress you I guess.... Besides, we have guards with us!" He answered.

Ahhh, but those guards look weak...

"When you guys are fighting, I don't have to help, and interfere right? Even when someone is injured?" Tierra wondered, she just wanted to finish the book, it was really interesting. She remembered half of the spells already, mainly because they were in English.

Brobro looked puzzled,

"Ah.. sure? We will take care of it, so it is fine.." he replied. Tierra swore to herself only to help if something happened to Levi.

Levi is a great fighter though, probably the prince too. Oh no... I think I forgot to bring some sweets.... darn, maybe next time.

As it was about an hour later, they stopped riding on horses, well, them anyways not Tierra. They just pulled the reigns of the horse forward leading her behind them. They've already encountered many beasts, and defeated them all with the help of the guards, and she also finished her book, she has now memorized them all. Her brother and his highness have great coordination skills with each other, making a great combo.

"RAWWWWRRRRRRRGGGG" the roar echoed, 

eh? Things seem to be getting interesting... but wait, that presence feels like an O ranked beast.  What's it doing in this forest?

Tierra just flipped open the spell book, reading them over again.

"I think it's a L ranked beast! Come on, we an take it out!" A guard shouted.

She just rolled her eyes behind the book, and continued re-examining.

Dummy, that's an O ranked beast...

Then something else was tingling inside me.. hm? There's more? It's a pack, a type of wild wolves, fire? Fire wolves, ahh~

"Eh... brobro... how about we head back now? I think this opponent is too hard for you guys..." she said to Levi.

"There's no way we'd back out, it can't be that hard, a rank L, against all of us. Just sit back and watch," The prince replied with a smirk.

I wasn't talking to you, dummy..

She sighed, how dumb can you be... She ignored the prince and again, talked to Levi.

"Brother, it is not an L ranked beast, they are O ranked, and it's not alone. There's a whole pack of them, I'm guessing fire wolves." She explained, narrowing her eyes at the direction the roar came from.

A guard huffed,

"Hmph! What do you know, why high ranked beasts be here?!"

"Exactly my question....hm.." Tierra kept pondering, but she couldn't think of a logical reason why.

Well they don't believe my knowledge, well I did make my reputation an innocent person, and never went outside... oh well.

"Just warning you brobro," and she continued reading.

Little did anyone know, a drop of sweat fell from Levi's forehead. If he would to actually claim that he knows his sister... although she's innocent, and kind, she was almost always right....

"Hey... Xander, how about we head back before the wolves get here... they'll overpower us, we're not that strong.." Levi claimed.

"You too? Come on, this miss doesn't know what she's talking about!" The same guard shouted again.

But before anyone can answer, loud thuds can be heard, and the ground started rumbling.

They're here... Tierra's eyes narrowed.

"FIRE WOLVES! Protect the crown prince!" Another guard shouted.

Hmph! Told you so, but of course let's not believe this wimp. I'm not a wimp, I'm stronger than you in combat I bet, who knows, maybe magic too!
