After following the figure all the way to the abandoned building, Jessica watched him slip inside, followed by two large wolves. She snuck around the side of the building and found another way in by climbing down into a lower level. Upon looking around a bit, she discovered that she had found herself in the old Blackwood Sanitorium, which had been abandoned many years ago. When she finally caught up to the figure and his furry bodyguards, he slipped into the main chapel, locking the door with a key card behind him. Jess groaned internally, knowing that it meant she would have to find a spare one.
While wandering around the sanitorium in search of a key card, Jess found several other bizarre things scattered around, including paperwork, a broken camera, and even an old electric chair. She was also able to find a machete, just so she was armed in case the figure came back.
When Jess found herself in what she thought was some sort of operating room, she was beyond frightened. She noticed a rotting arm waving back and forth mechanically, and reached for the tag attached to it. This ended up being a huge mistake, since a bear trap bit down on her fingers the second she touched it. She screamed in pain, tears streaming down her face. She tried to gently slip her fingers out of the trap, but it only made the pain worse. She started to hear the growling of the wolf getting closer, so she wasted no time taking out the machete and cutting through her fingers, causing her to scream again. She reached over and bandaged her hand with the gauze sitting on the operating table and put her machete back, still writhing at the pain. Not wanting to be around when the wolf arrived, Jess kept going.
"Eenie... meenie... miney... moe.... I don't know where the hell to go..." she mumbled to herself as she looked around helplessly.
She wandered to the other end of the room and found a wall lined with morgue drawers. Hoping to find a key card, Jess opened the drawers one by one until she found a decomposing corpse in one of them. She nearly vomited when a rat crawled out of it's mouth.
"Oh my god- that's fucking sick..." she cried.
Upon looking closer, Jess saw that the corpse's shirt pocket contained a key card. She carefully removed it and unlocked the door out of the morgue. She turned and made her way up a set of stairs, only for the black wolf from before to jump out and start barking.
"OH SHIT-" Jess yelled as she started running up the stairs and around corners. Miraculously, she managed to outrun it and lock a wooden door behind her, keeping it out. She looked through a large, shattered window and saw that she was in a room above the chapel. After climbing down a bit, she approached the door and unlocked it with the key card. The wolf from before jumped out again, and Jess jumped back slightly.
"WOAH! Okay... okay..." she said as she slowly walked around the wolf. Seeing that she wasn't going to harm him, the wolf backed away.
Still unsure of where to go, Jess continued to wander around. She found an animal bone in a chest, and decided to feed the wolf. "Might as well keep him fat and happy..." she mumbled before whistling to the wolf. She threw the bone down in front of it and watched it approach her. She put her hand out cautiously, and was surprised and happy when it let her pet it. "Easy boy... easy..." she said softly before standing up.
Upon exploring the area even more, Jess found an old jacket to help keep her warm, as well as a gun to be even more protected. She went down a set of stairs and found a locked door, but shot the lock off no problem. Upon doing so, she saw sparks fly into a pool of dark liquid, causing a small fire. In a matter of seconds, the small fire created a small explosion, knocking Jess backwards.

Back near the lodge, Matt and Emily were on their way to the cable car station.
"I can't believe Sam's dead..." Matt mumbled.
"I can't believe HOW she died." Emily replied.
"No, I mean... what if it wasn't true?" Matt asked.
"Why wouldn't it be? Chris and Ash seemed pretty terrified." Em reasoned. "Look! There's an axe in the door." She pointed out as they reached the cable car station. "I'd feel better with that."
"Awesome, now we can break the door down-"
"Hold on. If we start breaking things, the maniac will hear us."
"Well, got any better suggestions?" Matt asked impatiently.
"Well..." she looked around for a moment. "What about the window over there?" She asked.
Matt walked over and attempted to open it, only to find it locked. "Nope. We're gonna have to smash shit down."
"Fine..." Em muttered as she used the axe to break the door down.
As Matt flipped the light switch on, the couple was horrified to see the entire cable car station completely ransacked. Bags and shelves were knocked over and thrown into piles, pictures were taken off the walls, and the word 'DIE' was painted all over the walls in red.
"Damn..." Em muttered.
"We were here a little while ago, this must've happened not too long ago..." Matt pointed out.
"What the hell is going on around here?!"
"It must've been the same guy who got to Chris, Ash, and Sam-"
"He must know there's no other way back."
"Don't say that..."
"Look how far away the cable car is, there's no way that wasn't intentional." Em pointed out.
"I mean, that's not all that far... maybe you could jump it?" Matt suggested.
"I'm flattered, Matt, but I'm sadly not quite that athletically inclined." Em replied.
"Well then what are we gonna do?!" He asked.
"I... I have no idea just yet." Emily answered as she walked into the building part of the station. After putting the framed map back up on the wall, she noticed the fire tower off in the corner. "Hey, what about this?" She asked as she pointed to it.
"What about it? I'm more worried about getting the cable car to work." Matt replied dismissively.
"Well, we don't have the keys."
Matt paused for a second. "Wait... do you think the fire tower will have a radio in it?" He asked.
"Probably."
"We could use it to call for help! We've gotta get up there."
"Yeah! Somebody's gotta pick up the signal." Em agreed.
"Glad to see somebody is learning to play by the rules." Matt said.
"Rules? What rules?"
"Rule number one, Matt is always right. Rule number two, nothing else matters because Matt is always right." He said with a smirk.
"Uh... right."
With that, the couple left the cable car station and began to follow the trail to the fire tower. About half of the way there, they found themselves standing on a cliff edge with a broken warning sign.
"Watch your step, Matt." Em said.
"Yes, Emily, I'd rather not fall to my death from the cliff's edge." He replied sarcastically.
Just as they were about to keep going, a loud screech could be heard from a distance.
"Em, was that?" Matt asked.
"I don't know..." Emily replied as a herd of deer approached them.
"Oh shit..." Matt mumbled as the deer began to walk closer, causing the couple to back up towards the edge.
