It was beginning to surprise Steve just how little Shield had called him in for a mission. The past three months had been pretty slow, for an avenger anyway. There were times he found it relaxing. Then there were times, such as today, when it was just plain boring.

Steve sat in his small living room, terribly bored by the TV. He turned it off and glanced out the window. It was a gorgeous day. "Why not get some fresh air?" Steve thought aloud. Not that he needed it. He slowly got up from the couch, grabbed a sweatshirt, and started down the hallway.

Elevator or stairs? He thought. He then descended down the stairs, still having questions about modern day technology. He reached the lobby and walked outside.

Left or right? Steve thought about where he wanted to walk today. If he went to the left, he would go by all the shops, and even Shield if he went far enough. The street to the right went past more apartments and the park. Considering how beautiful the day was, he decided to go past the park. Steve started his jog, well, more of a run.

Steve was focused on his pace, when he heard a small noise. He stopped and looked around. He had made it to the park, but no one seemed to be there. He heard it again, almost like a small sob, coming from the park. He entered the park and began to walk around slowly, trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. The noise had been quiet,so he hadn't been able to tell where it was coming from at first. Then he heard it again, louder than before. Steve tried to determine where it was coming from. He had noticed that instead of calming down, the noise continued.

He finally thought he could tell which direction the noise was coming from. He started that way, listening for more of the crying noise. Then, suddenly, an ear splitting shriek came from the pavilion to his right. He winced as he ran over to see what was there. Laying on the ground was a cardboard box with a blanket over top. Steve lifted the blanket carefully. He gasped at what laid inside.

A newborn baby.
