It wasn't the fact that Steve had never really cared for a baby that scared him. It was the fact that he didn't know where the baby had come from, or why it had been left in the park. The baby, still laying in the box, looked at Steve for a moment, and started to whimper.

Steve wasn't sure what to do, so he thought for a minute, while watching the baby carefully. He didn't know much about kids, and babies were a whole other story. He continued thinking until the baby started to cry again.

"Oh, shhhh..." Steve whispered, gently picking up the baby. It had light brown hair, and bright green eyes. It wore a dirty yellow onesie, and was wrapped in a faded orange blanket. Steve began to cradle the baby in his arms, and it slowly fell asleep.

Steve considered what his next step should be. He felt something in him saying he should raise the child himself, but he had absolutely no idea how to do that. Then he had an idea. He knew who could help him.He made sure the baby was wrapped tightly, and began to carefully go back to his apartment. He sighed, knowing it was going to be a long walk. Still, he knew he didn't want to hurt the baby, or wake it. So he started on his way.

Every few seconds he would glance down at the sleeping child. It seemed so peaceful, as if it was unaware what had been going on. Steve smiled and whispered to the baby, "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you."

Once he finally reached the apartment, Steve tried to figure out where he could lay the baby down. He then saw a plush blanket, shoved over in the corner. He carefully grabbed it and spread it over a clear spot on the floor. He then, very carefully and gently, laid the baby on the blanket. The baby stuck its thumb in its mouth and continued to sleep.

Steve then decided it would be a good time to recruit his back up. He slipped out the door and took a breath. He then proceeded to knock on the apartment door next to his. A pretty, dirty blonde haired lady opened the door.

"Captain Rogers?" she inquired, "What's going on?"

"I need a favor, Kate. Got a minute?" he asked.

"I'm off today, so what do you need?"

"What do you know about kids?"
