Lily had now been at the Barton's for a week, and everything had gone over relatively smoothly. Everyday Lily asked multiple times where her dad was, and each day Clint and Laura sadly told her that Steve was still working and couldn't come home yet.

"That bad?" Lily turned from where she was playing to see Clint walk into the room, talking on his phone. "Of course, we will keep her as long as you need me too. What are you doing in the meantime?" Lily slowly played with her doll in order to keep watching Clint pace. He suddenly stopped. "Oh Steve, I had no idea. I'm so sorry." Clint continued to nod his head and pace. "Yes, she's quite fine. It's only been a week..... no, I don't think she could've handled the trip either. She's strong, but she couldn't have handled seeing you cry...... No, no, don't worry about it at all. It's totally fine. She's doing well. It'll be okay...... Alright, take care of the team for me." With that Clint hung up the phone. Lillian got up and waddled over.

"That Daddy?" She asked as Clint picked her up.

"That was your daddy." Clint forced a smile. "He's gonna be gone for a little bit longer. He wanted to make sure that you were okay."

"Lily otay!" Lillian stuck her thumb in her mouth before she rested on Clint's shoulder. Laura walked in with Nathaniel and smiled.

"What did Steve say?" She asked as she set him on the play mat.

"The government wants control of the Avengers." Clint sighed as he rocked Lillian. "They asked them to sign these accords. The team is totally split on who is willing, and who refuses."

"Define split?" Laura asked as she started to wash the dishes.

"Vision, Rhodey, Tony, and Natasha are willing to sign. Steve, Wanda, and Sam don't think it's such a great idea."

"Wow." Laura whispered as she shook her head. "You got an opinion."

"I'm retired." Clint chuckled. "Although I think I would side with Steve on this one." Clint sat down, shook his head, and sighed. "He's got bigger problems right now though."

"Lillian?" Laura asked.

"Well that too, but no. Steve got the news."

"What news?"

"Peggy is dead."
