Ask a curly girl about her hair and shell tell you about her life

If you ask

A curly girl about her hair

You'll know that dying your hair isn't always the best idea

When I was in middle school

I dyed my hair every color of the rainbow

To stand out

Not only was it damaging my curls

It was slowly damaging me

Each color

Covered the insecurities

That started growing upon me

I was young

Not knowing kids my age could be so mean

Mean to the point where each color

Was no longer a reflection of me being different

More of me

Questioning how different I could be

So I turned to the scissors

Middle of my back

To shoulder length

Became my new look

It took me a while to get used to

But I liked it

I liked it a lot
