"Come on Sumo! Just get out of the car already!" I screamed to myself. My legs didn't move. They are stuck to the seat. I slapped myself a couple of times hoping it would bring my legs to life. It didn't. I groaned as I slammed my head on the seat. I need to get out, now! I promised Jeff that I would help but now I can't even leave my freaking car!
This is embarrassing.
Like really embarrassing.
I sighed as my hands rubbed my face. This is my chance to show off to Jeff. My chance to show him that I'm a strong male. My chance to show him that I can be there for him. My chance to prove that I'm not feeling for him like a best friend. I want to marry him!
Does he want to marry me? I dunno. But I hope so
Taking in a deep breath, I opened my door. Grabbing my left leg and put it outside to touch the ground. As soon it hit the ground, I finally got my ability to walk again! About time. I grabbed my keys and closed my door. I rushed to the door, hoping that I don't seem to eager or early also not to late. I want to show that I care but not to much.
Even though I do.
I knocked on the door, after my third knock it opened. Jeff face appeared, and I swear to you. The air got a hundred times warmer. Jeff usual neat hair is messy. He wore a simple blue T-shirt and a pair of gym shorts. He looked up from his book and eyes widen.
"Sumo!" He squeaked as he used his book to cover his shorts.
How cute. He thinks I care that he's still in his PJ's.
"Did I come to early?" I asked.
"No . . . of course not. I just got really lost in this book." He said as he stepped aside.
I walked inside, "Oh yeah? What's it about."
"You wouldn't care."
"Doesn't mean I don't wanna know, Jeffrey."
He smiled, "Well its a out this fallen god who needs to find five oracles in order to restore his godhood."
"Sounds . . . uh, pretty cool."
"You're lying."
"No! I'm being honest. Fallen god who needs to go on this big adventure. I love."
He rolled his eyes before placing a bookmark in his book. He pushed me in the chair and walked to his room. I heard him opening his drawers, and a small smile spread across my face. Should I tell him that I don't care if he wears gym shorts? 'Cause I don't. After a couple of minutes he came out, wearing a pair of blue jean shorts and white shirt.
"Alright, so what do I need to do?" I asked.
His face burned bright red, "Actually . . . I have something to confess."
"Okay?"
"I don't need help with anything. I just wanted to hang out with you."
"Seriously? You could've just said that!"
Jeff sighed, "Well . . . I didn't want Clarence to get the wrong idea. Besides it's way more complicated than you think."
I stood up, confused but happy. Jeff wants to hang out with me. Great! But how is that complicated? Unless he doesn't like me! Oh no . . . that can't happen. Sure I'm not going to force him to be with me if he's not happy but what about me? I've crushing on him since forever. I refused dates for him. I would lay my life down for him.
But Jeff happiness means everything to me. If he's not happy by being with me then . . . then it'll be okay.
I'll just cry in my pillow later tonight.
"Well, what do you wanna do?" I asked.
"There's a new book store opening in town. Are you cool if we go there?"
"Sure. Let's go check out some books."
Jeff smile, that smile made all my fears go away. I opened the door, allowing him to walk out first then closed the door. He locked it and we made our way towards the car. Making a fast drive there, we talked about our plans for the summer and graduation plans.
We finally made it to the book store and made it inside. It smelled like new books and coffee. I never understand why coffee is in book stores, its just weird. Jeff grabbed my hand and dragged me to the fiction section. My face burned bright red.
He's holding my hand!
He let go and started to look through the books. He nodded at some of the titles, grabbing a few to read what's it about. He looked so into it, like nothing else mattered. I have never been more in love with this book lover nerd then I am right now.
He looks so soft. His eyes scanned across, he mumbled to himself and counted on his fingers. I nodded to myself. I could care less that he lied to me about needing help. 'Cause I can stare at him the entire time.
And I will.
"Hey Sumo?" Jeff asked.
Shoot I got caught! Instead of panicking I hummed in response.
He turn to look at me, "Thanks for bringing me here."
"No problem."
He grabbed my hand again to drag me around. He started to talk about the different books, different series and giving me little facts about the author. Jeff seem to get happier when I asked questions and answered them, trying hard not to spoil me. But I don't care. I just like seeming him get really happy about this
Man, I love today.
