Let me just recap you on everything that just happened to me, Ryan Sumoski, (don't make fun of my first name, I know that it's terrible). Jeff held my hand! He took my jacket, which I am okay with that, and held my hand all the way to the lunchroom. May I add that he didn't let it go until we had to go to class, because we don't have the same class.
That doesn't mean I don't walk him to class.
I don't mind being late class for Jeff.
Now here I am, sitting in the car with Jeff, Clarence and Belson. For some odd reason Clarence thought it would be a good idea to go to the zoo, I think he's trying to be my wing man. Which he is not good at it by the way. He makes things to obvious.
I waited for Clarence to get a call from Chad about the money, but he's to busy flirting with Belson. Belson, for once isn't playing his games, is blushing and trying to get Clarence to shut up. Poor brunette boy is embarrassed, I wouldn't have been. I looked over at Jeff, who is staring outside the window at the trees, which only made me smile.
How did I get so lucky? Falling in love with a boy who stares at trees. Or reads textbooks every single chance he gets. Or the way he messes with his hair when he's upset. Or how about his blue eyes watching everything and nothing. Just, why he is so perfect?
And why would I do anything for him?
"You're staring." Clarence whispered in my ear.
I rolled my eyes, "And you're badly flirting."
"What! I think I am doing a great job, thank you."
"Yeah, whatever. Did Chad text you? Tell me that he did."
"Why? So you can make out Jeff all day?"
"Clarence!" I exclaimed as I turned around.
Belson snorted, "Stop fighting, you two."
"How did you get your phone out that fast? Clarence and I only been talking for a minute." I said.
Jeff giggled, "His hands are glued to the phone."
"Yeah. Yeah." Belson said.
Clarence gasped, "Chad sent the money! He says to have fun and don't do anything stupid Clarence. Wait, what?"
I snorted, of course Chad would warn Clarence not to do anything stupid. Clarence read over the message again and is still shocked. I rolled my eyes and pulled out of the school parking lot and made my way to the zoo. Clarence reached over and turned on the radio, revealing my loud rock. I jumped, for some odd reason I didn't know that it was that loud, and he changed the station.
I looked over at him, he just smiled as he moved his eyes towards Jeff then went back to his chair. I turn back to the road, because there is no way that I'm going to crash, I love my car to much. Also I would hate to kill Jeff and my other friends. That would suck.
I pull up in the parking lot and turned off the car. We climbed out of the car and I found myself staring at the zoo. I remember this place. Not only this is place that Clarence claims his first date with Belson but because this is a place where Jeff and I hung out by ourselves for the second time. Granted I didn't pay any attention to the assignment, instead I ran around with Jeff chasing me.
I wonder if Jeff remembers that.
Clarence wrapped his arm around my shoulder, "So, you ready?"
"For?" I asked.
"This is your perfect time to tell Jeff that you like him!"
"Clarence! That was your whole plan?"
"Yes and no. Belson is a little mad at me, remember me trying to flirt with him, so I'm taking him to the dolphins. Also I got him a surprise, do you think he will like this ring I got him?"
"You're going to ask him to marry you?!"
"What? No," Clarence said with a snort. "Why would I do that, Belson doesn't like that question anyway, it's a promise ring, silly."
"You bought him a promise ring?"
"I know right, I think he will like it. It has his birthstone and our initials engraved on inside. So, you need to be more romantic then me."
I rolled my eyes, "How am I going to do that? You taking Belson to his favorite animal and giving him a promise ring. I haven't even told Jeff that I like him."
Clarence patted his shoulder, "You got this. I believe in you!"
Before I could say anything he ran off with Belson, leaving Jeff and me alone. I smiled as I turn to him as he smiled back. We both walked inside, looking around but nothing has changed. Only new animals because the others have died. Jeff started to list off random facts, man this brings me back, and dragged me around, that also brings me back.
He pointed towards the monkeys and started to list off the types and facts. I look down at him, since he reaches to my shoulders, and smiled. When he lists of facts it becomes something magical and cute. I guess, please don't attack me, but he reminds me of a fairy. Because they are cute and amazing and adorable!
So yeah, that's Jeff.
I cleared my throat, "Uh, Jeffrey?"
"Yeah?" He asked.
"What are you plans when you graduate?"
He looked up at me, "Sumo, what is this about?"
"Nothing! I just wanted to know what you're plans are."
"Oh . . . well, I did get into Stanford so I imagine I would go there. Unless someone here says something."
"Why would someone keep you from your dream?"
He sighed, "I guess no one will."
I looked away, "Are you going to miss this place?"
"Of course I will. This is home, this is where I met you . . . and Clarence," He shook his head, "What about you? What's your plan?"
I shrugged, "Maybe stay here, I do like fixing cars so might go to community college for that."
Jeff sighed as he nodded. I frowned, hate seeing him upset, and grabbed his hand. Jeff looked over with a smile as he laced his fingers with mine. We both turn read but have smiles across out face.
"I'll also miss this." Jeff said.
