"The mirror"

Thomas. That was his name. Thomas.

He learnt that a few weeks after he was born. When he started to understand things.

When Thomas was three, he learnt the name of his town; Detroit.

It was a long time since Thomas learnt his name, sixteen years actually.

When Thomas was eight, he learnt that his parents died in a car crash, he learnt that maybe an hour after the crash. Then he learnt that he needed to move in with his grandparents.

Thomas learnt new things at school every year, every month, every week.

When Thomas was six, he learnt that Teresa, Aris and Rachel wanted to be his friends.

Thomas had learnt so many things in his life without wondering much over it. Except one thing. The door.

The door, straight up the hall, which his grandparents had told him strictly not to touch.

Thomas' room was upstairs, far away from the door. Maybe his grandparents didn't like him to peck on their private stuff, maybe they didn't like him at all.

Thomas didn't see much of his grandparents. His grandmother was either to find in the kitchen, or in her bedroom, dozing of.

His grandfather was either out with a friend to fish, or he read the newspaper in the chair, or he could nap on the couch.

Thomas thought his life was really boring.

▪️▪️▪️

Newt lived in Charlotte. It wasn't always like that. Himself and his parents and little sister moved to the US from London when Newt was ten. He kept his British accent, something neither his sister or parents did.

His parents were actually from Charlotte, they moved to London five years before Newt was born.

Newt had gotten many friends when he first moved to Charlotte, like Minho, but he never felt like he fitted in.

Newt had a limp on one of his feet. Truth is, he had never told anyone the real reason why he had his limp.

His parents didn't know that he jumped off a bridge, everyone thought he had fallen, fallen of that bridge with an acciden.

Actually, there was one person who knew the real reason of the limp. Minho.

Minho, as Newt's friend, started to protect Newt as much as he could after Newt told him the real reason.

Minho was the only one Newt trusted. For now, at least.

Newt lived in a big house, his parents bought the house so they could live near Newt and his sister's maternal grandparents.

Newt's bed room was in the attic. When he moved in , there was nothing there, but a mirror.

The mirror was creepy, Newt thought, but he kept it. It was a normal mirror, with a black, thick frame, covered in dust.

Newt could swear he saw something unknown in the mirror from time to time. But he had never told anyone.

The weirdest thing about the mirror was the quote on the wall. It was painted in black, calligraphic letters.

Newt was really afraid of the quote, and he had no idea why.
