Mike is walking to his class, holding El's hand. Everything feels so wrong. The other boys and Max are walking a few metres behind them. He wants to turn around and run out of the school but he keeps walking, he focuses on El's hand. He just wants to let go of her hand but he keeps holding it tight, maybe he's squeezing her hand a bit too hard.
- Mike whats wrong? She says with worry in her eyes. Her eyes are just normal eyes, not like wills. Not at all.
- Nothing, I just stayed up a bit too late last night he says with a fake smile. He knows how tired he looks and he really understands why El is starting to worry about him.

She doesn't say anything more but Mike can tell from the look on her face that she doesn't belive him. He has been acting weird for weeks and he feels really bad for her because he knows that she wants him to be like before. She probably wants him to smile when he looks at her and kiss her like he did before. He remember their first kiss, everything felt so good and he was really happy. It felt like he wanted to be with her forever. He doesn't know why that feeling changed but it did.

Mike can't focus in school anymore and his grades has been getting worse and worse. Before he was great in school and all of the teachers loved him but now he finds it hard to even stay awake in class but thats not the only thing that keeps him from focusing on what the teachers says.

Will is sitting next to him in almost every class and Mike can't keep his eyes of the boy. Will is perfect in school even though everything he went through. Everything with him is perfect; the way he laughs, the thing he always does with his eyebrows when he's stressed, the way he always is kind and welcoming to others, the happy grin he gets on his face when he's proud over a drawing, everything the boy says and does is perfect. It actually makes Mike kind of angry sometimes.

- Mike? the science teacher asks with a loud voice and Mike wakes up from his daydreaming about Will.
- I'm sorry i didn't hear the question Mike says and looks down on his table, he's embarassed.
- You need to pay way more attention to my lessions Wheeler the teacher says with an angry look on his face.
- Sorry Mike answers with a red face from all the embarasment.

After the class Mike quickly walks out of the classroom but Will stops him.
- Mike i know that i say this way too often but i just wonder if you really are okay because you have been looking really tired and sad lately Will says.
- I'm okay, i promise Mike says and fakes another smile.
- Are you really sure because..
- Stop it Will, I really am okay Mike says with a steady voice but inside he's breaking.
Will just looks at him with his big eyes but he doesn't say anything more.

After a few minutes all of the other friends are there too and Dustin is telling them some story about a new game but Mike can't listen to him.

All he can do is stare at Will and he realises that Will looks sad too. He has been to busy with his own problems that he hasn't asked Will a single time in weeks how he is or how he feels and Mike feels like the worst friend ever. He really hates himself.

Will can't stop thinking about Mikes messy hair and tired eyes, it looks like he hasn't slept since forever and Will is really worried for him. He really wishes that Mike would talk to him about it, before they could talk about everything but now it's different and Will hates it. He just want to talk to Mike again.

He's on his way home from school and Jonathan is driving him home .
Will is just staring out of the window and he can't stop thinking about Mike.
- Hey Will, whats up? You have this sad look on your face and you have been quiet the whole way home, Jonathan asks with a soft voice.

Jonathan is the only one who knows.

Will told him after the snowball. Will danced with some really pretty girl that called him zombie boy and there was nothing wrong with her. Will actually had a really great time, until he saw him. When he saw how Mike and Elevens lips met it felt like his world collapsed and it felt like he couldn't breathe but he just kept smiling and kept dancing with that girl but after a while it all got too much so he just walked out of the school and when he was outside it was dark and really cold but he couldn't feel a damn thing. The only thing he could feel was his broken heart break in even more ways and the only thing he could think of was how stupid and disguisting he felt. He just wanted to throw up but thats when Jonathan showed up outside. He had seen Will walk out of the school alone. When Jonathan asked Will why he were outside alone Will just broke down and he couldn't stop crying. Jonathan hugged his litte brother harder than ever and thats when Will told him. He told him that he was in love with Mike. Jonathan just kept hugging his brother, rubbed his back and said " I know Will, I have known since forever".

But now they are in the car and Jonathan is looking really worried.
- It has nothing to do about about the upside down right? You really need to tell me if you are starting to feel weird again he asks.
- No it's just....Mike, Will says and looks down.
- He still loves you Will even if it's not in the same way as you love him, you know that right?
- I know but I'm just worried about him because he always looks so tired and his eyes are always red, it looks like he has been crying all the time and it scares me Will says quietly.
Then he keeps talking.
- The worst part about it is that he doesn't want to talk to me, he just keeps telling me that everything is fine but I know it's not.

Tears are building up in the small boys eyes while his heart is breaking for Mike Wheeler.

If he only knew.
