Grayson's POV:
"Dude, she's fucking psycho!" I lean against Anthony's locker and run a hand through my hair in anger.
"I can't believe she would threaten to let Ben out." Anthony shivers at the thought. "That's not something to joke about."
"You're coming to that party with me." I didn't care what Riley says. There is no way I am going alone with her.
"Of course dude." Anthony looks at me with a small laugh. "I wouldn't let you go by yourself. She's insane."
"Of course this would happen now." I lowly mumble. "Madison is a week away from coming here and my college future is starting to look good. Now Riley is going to ruin it all because she's psycho."
"You should tell Madison about it."
"I don't want to worry her." I look down with a sigh. "If she finds out Ben is involved she'll freak out."
"I guess that's true." Anthony holds onto his binder with his free hand and looks over at me next to him. "Madison would probably not want to come back."
"Exactly and she deserves to be with her dad."
And me.
"If I'm at the party tonight, Riley won't pull anything." Anthony reassures me. "She never said I couldn't come."
"She's probably gonna be mad once she sees you though." God, I can never win.
"Who cares." He rolls his eyes. "Besides, she's obsessed with you not me."
"That's very comforting, thanks for that." I sarcastically remark.
"Do you think she would actually be capable of letting him out?" He nervously questions.
"I doubt it." I answer honestly. "But I don't want to take any chances."
"This is a one time thing, right?" He shuts his locker and looks at me. "We don't always have to hang out with her, right?"
"I would rather have Ben roam the streets than spend the rest of high school hanging out with her." I roll my eyes. "Actually, both situations sound bad."
"So where is the party anyway?"
"I don't know." I shrug. "She texted me her address but never said where we were going."
"What if she tries to kill us?" He jokingly laughs.
"If anything she'll try to kill you, she's obsessed with me remember?" I laugh as we walk down the hallway.
"At least I can die happy knowing I met Ava." He lightly laughs as a smile creeps upon his face.
"You really like her, don't you?" Anthony tries to be lowkey about it, but he could never fool me.
"It doesn't matter." He sighs and pushes open one of the exit doors that leads into the courtyard. "We could never work."
"People used to say that about Madison and I, and look where we are now." I try to reassure him as we sit down at our usual table. We always do our homework in the courtyard during free period.
"Ava is going to Columbia." He says while placing his binder on the round table. "I'm going to college here. We wouldn't even have a chance to actually date."
"You could do long distance." I suggest. "You did it with Madison."
"Long distance sucks, even you can admit that. Our relationship was just meant to be a quick fling in New York."
