Back at the Jaeger Pilot Academy, everyone was feeling disheartened and feeling down from the loss of Mako Mori. Claire and Jasmine were hit the hardest, since they considered Mako as a sister, while Braedey knew Jake was taking this just as hard, since Mako was his sister.
Braedey stood on one of the balconies leading up to the Conn-Pods of the Jaegers, looking out to the mech titans. He was currently thinking about this rouge Jaeger, which everyone has given the name of Obsidian Fury, and thought about how it came to be. In addition, he's got a bad feeling about this rouge.
"You okay, Braedey?" The brunette looked to his left, and saw Amara walk up to him. "You've been a little upset."
"Hey. Sorry, Amara." Braedey sighed. "I've just been thinking about this rouge Jaeger that ambushed us in Sydney." He rolled his shoulders. "Alex and Alice are currently tracking the rouge as we speak. Once they find it, they'll tear it apart."
"Braedey, could you tell me about how Alice and Alex became Jaeger pilots?" Amara asked, looking to the empty bay of Cosmic Apogee.
"I guess it's okay to tell you about it happened." Braedey took a deep breath, and began to think back years ago. "But, just so you know, it's not for the faint of heart."
It turns out that Alice and Alex's backstory is more tragic than one could even imagine. More so than what had happened to Braedey or Dan. But, as the saying goes, 'There is always a diamond in the rough'.
The brother and sister duo grew up in their home state of North Carolina, USA. Their parents lived on a plot of land that was close to the sea, and gave them unprecedented views of the rising and falling sun. However, during a family vacation to New York, their parents, along with their other family members and relatives were killed during a freak Kaiju attack, which happened just a year since K-Day, when Trespasser first appeared in San Francisco.
That attack left both 9-10yr old Alice and Alex homeless, and left them to fend for themselves until they were ready to take back what belongs to them. Throughout the years, both Alice and Alex grew up together, not leaving one another's side whatsoever, and staying together. Soon, they began to learn all different kinds of martial arts, like Kung-Fu, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Kickboxing, and other such arts, so they could get into the Jaeger Academy Program.
Eventually, as they reached the age of 12, they were greeted by a military officer, and the two were sent to the Jaeger Training Academy in the Anchorage Shatterdome, where they encountered and met the dynamic brotherly duo and upcoming pilots of the Mark-3 Jaeger, Gipsy Danger, Braedey Martin and Maxwell Martin. The four friends soon became close to one another, Alice and Alex giving their respects for what happened to Braedey and Maxwell's grandparents when they were killed by Trespasser in San Francisco, and the brothers gave their respects back for what had happened to Alice and Alex's families. The four soon trained together of how to fight and how to kill Kaiju, along with them having one of the strongest of Neural Handshakes throughout all of the cadets that were brought into the Academy.
But soon, Braedey and Maxwell were called off into war alongside their Jaeger, and had to leave the two siblings behind, though they promised they'll come back alive after each mission. After that, both Alex and Alice were assigned to assist on the Eastern Seaboard of the USA, alongside the Mark-2 Jaeger Oni Taiji, and the Mark-1 Romeo Blue, where the siblings met Claire and Jasmine, and easily got along with the two women, thinking of them as sisters, until the two girls were assigned to the Anchorage Shatterdome with Romeo Blue later on.
Soon enough, by the year of 2025, with the downfall of the Jaeger Program, the United Nations began to cut their funding from the Pan Pacific Defence Corps to begin construction on the Anti-Kaiju Wall later on during the war. At this point in time, both Alice and Alex have been the only Jaeger pilots left in the L.A Shatterdome, since Romeo Blue was in Anchorage, and in addition, Mammoth Apostle had been destroyed on October 4, 2024. They really didn't know what was going to happen to them, but about three days before they were told to head out to the Hong Kong Shatterdome, they were given their own Jaeger; a Mark-5 codenamed Cosmic Apogee.
