Back at the Shatterdome, examination was underway with Obsidian Fury's body, along with the Kaiju brain that was inside of the Conn-Pod. Braedey, Albert, Carolina, Jake, Nate, Claire, Jasmine, along with the Edward brothers, Elias and Xander, were all confused as to what the hell the mess was that was sitting before them

"This is most definitely Kaiju." Gottlieb deduced, putting away a chainsaw that he was using to cut into the deceased organ. "It is the secondary brain to control hind leg movement within the beast." He added.

"Hold on. How did a Kaiju brain end up inside of a Jaeger's body?" Claire asked in confusion. "It doesn't make any sense."

"If there was a Breach opening, the sensors and myself would've known it." Elias spoke up to them. "My Kaiju blood would let me know in case of something like that."

"There hasn't been any Breach activity in over five years." Xander added. "How could this have ended up here in our reality?"

"I don't think it belongs to the Anteverse." Gottlieb continued. "Kaiju blood has a very distinct radioactive signature that makes it stand out, and let us determine its place in the Category system, and the radioactive signature matches that of the Anteverse. This one, however, does not."

"So, you're saying that this thing is from our world?" Jasmine asked in disbelief. She couldn't believe someone would even try to replicate a Kaiju brain. Even Nate, who looked to the others in surprise, couldn't understand this.

"The genetic characteristics of this brain makes this look very complicated." Gottlieb deduced to the pilots. "With the correct modification techniques, it's possible to be able to redesign a Kaiju brain from the remains after the war."

Braedey eyed the Kaiju brain remains, eyeing the whole organ, and narrowed his eyes. "This wasn't done before the Kaiju War. Precursors didn't make this abomination." He stated. "This was done by humans."

"Yeah. But, who?" Alex wondered. He narrowed his eyes, looking to everyone around him, all of them looking in suspicion and bewilderment as to who could be responsible for this kind of freaky Frankenstein monster experimentation.

Later that afternoon, Amara was in a detention room, after she and the cadets have snuck into the remains of Obsidian Fury, and as a result, their friend Jinhai got burnt by some Kaiju acid in the wiring bundles.

"Is he going to be okay?" Amara asked Jake, who checked on him, while Braedey stood outside, listening in on the conversation.

"There will be some scarring, but yes, he will survive." Jake replied. "Marshal says you are all exposed to probation. And all of you."

"I have talked to Marshal, but... you are removed from the program." Jake sighed. "Moreover, I volunteered. I really don't want to be here. Still don't want to." He shrugged.

"Why did you register?" Amara asked.

"We were at war." Jake explained. My father was Marshal, and I thought... I could meet him more. Maybe even fight with him." He sighed. "But, one day I woke up, and it was the stupidest thing I did. I got into a Jaeger, and tried to solo-pilot. To prove to him that I'm be the best pilot."

"That's stupid." Amara commented. "How far did you get?" She asked.

"Eh, 7 steps." Jake replied. "Some .."

"-How far did you?" Amara asked, knowing Jake was lying.

"About 2 steps, then I lost power." Jake replied honestly. "The worst thing to look to when I woke up was my father standing in front of me. Staring silently at me with an angry look."
