Jackie's next big fashion moments was on a state visit to Great Britain (my home country!) where she would meet Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen hosted a dinner in honour of the Kennedys.
For this dinner, Jackie wore an ice blue satin dress, with a matching shawl with a bateau neckline and diamond clips on both sides. I can't get any information on who designed the dress.
Jackie stayed with her sister Lee in her home at 4 Buckingham Place, just around the corner from the palace when she was in London. At the dinner, Jackie enjoyed herself but she recalled that she wasn't impressed by the flowers, or the furnishings of the palace, and she also didn't like the Queen's ocean blue tulle dress and she also didn't like Her Majesty's so-called 'flat hairstyle'.
Jackie did recall they were very nice and kind and Phillip was charming. Unlike Jackie, I admire Her Majesty's dress.
