Chapter Seven She’s Known as T.C.
Ruth ran across the campus, while holding onto Lee’s hand so not to lose him in the crowd of people. Police cars and ambulances blared there sirens and flashed there lights. Her heart pounded in her chest as fear and worry began to blend together as questions ran through her mind. What happened? Was Tara okay? Why was there an ambulance? Was someone hurt, was it Tara?
“Ruth slow down!” Lee pleaded as she continued to tug on his arm. “I don’t know this area so please…”
Reluctantly she did what he asked. “I’m sorry Lee.” She said. “I just really need to find Tara so…”
“Lee!” a young man called, Ruth turned to see a Japanese man running over to them. “What are you doing here? I thought you were still at your college.”
“I’m sorry Nii-san, but this young woman here became concerned for her friend, she heard something strange on her phone. And wanted to come here to make sure that she was okay…”
“But why are you here Lee?” his older brother asked. “Didn’t you once tell our parents that you refused to set foot in this place?”
Lee was quite for a moment. “…Something changed.”
The man looked confused. “Changed…?”
“Ryouichi!” another officer called out, having both of them call out in unison.
“Yes?”
The man cursed. “Oh great, there’s two of you now…”
“He’s my younger brother Joe.” Ryouichi said as Joe walked over and then waved a hand in front of Lee’s face.
“Yes I’m blind.” Lee said with slight irritation, as he tapped his cane on the ground. “Or was my cane not evident in my lack of sight?”
“You two really are related,” Joe said glancing over to his partner. “You both have the same sense of humor.”
“Actually it’s sarcasm.” They both said at once before the older brother spoke to Ruth. “You said that you were worried for your friend, may I ask what it was about?”
“She was looking into the death of Alex Clarke, she found out something’s about his death that point the complete opposite of suicide.”
“What do you mean?” Joe joked, like what Ruth was saying was funny.
She glared, was this guy kidding, judging by how he looked at her, he thought Ruth was just a kid. She pulled out her file folder and showed them the three articles. “Well for starters the newspaper articles that explained of Alex’s death are fake, as well as the others that my friend found not too long ago.”
They took the articles and looked at them as Lee stood near her.
“They all say the same thing. Different wording but it’s still the same all together.”
“Where did she find these?” he asked as Ruth swiped to get them back and placed them back into her pink file folder.
“She found them on the internet. But when she tried for the newspaper’s website she learned that it was completely fake.” Ruth looked at them. “She went to find out what happened to Alex, since she and I learned that he was stalked from the tape of the underground tunnels.”
Joe frowned as Cyan paled. “What video tape?” Joe frowned.
Ruth glanced to the other officer, he seemed to know what she was talking about, yet the other one didn’t. Did that mean there was a conspiracy inside the college?
