Chapter Eighteen Memory of Rage V.S Reality of Truth

Do not allow yourself to be blinded by fear and anger. Everything is only as it is.

~ Yuki Urushibara

This is getting out of control…! Ruth thought as she wiped the sweat from her brow. She rested on the backs of her heels, her elbows resting on her knee’s as she let out a exasperated breath. There’s so much information here it’s starting to get hard to tell what from what anymore… I wish it would be easier like in those video games that Tara had played, where I could spot out certain documents like that. I know if Tara was here she’d probably be able to spot certain ones that were important. She shook her head before letting out another sigh. I keep thinking what Tara would do if she was here, I’m acting like she’s not going to come back. Ruth then used both of her hands to smack herself on both sides of her face, only to cringe and realize that she had hit herself too hard. “Ow…” she groaned. I hit myself too hard… but I can’t keep thinking what Tara would do if she was here! I need to think of what I would do in this situation right now, and I need to find any kind of information.

Standing she headed over to another create that held more documents and papers. She glanced to Natalie, she was sitting on a box cross-legged not really caring if Ruth saw her underwear or not.

“Any luck in create number three?” she asked not looking up from the file she was reading.

She gave a nervous smile. “Sadly no… here’s hoping create number four has some kind of information that we can actually use then medical charts and broken machinery that had been filed…” she then changed the topic. “You’ve been looking at that for a while, anything important in there that I should know about?”

“Perhaps…” she said as she flipped to another page in the file. Then her eyes narrowed as if something happened unexpected came up.

“What? What is it, did you find something?”

“Not sure,” she handed it to Ruth when she came over. “But it looks to be about a victim from fifteen years ago.” When Ruth took it Natalie added. “Hey didn’t you tell me that detective guy went to our college fifteen years ago?”

Ruth looked to the name, and felt her heart nearly stop.

The name on the file was none other than Felicia Wickson.

“Feli…cia…” Ruth murmured wide complete wide eyes as the color began to drain from her face. “What… why is her name in here…?”

Natalie frowned, and titled her head to try and see Ruth’s expression. “Ruth..? Ruuuth? Are you in there?”

Ruth snapped out of it looking up to her. “Huh? Oh… yeah I’m fine, the name just surprised me is all.”

“You’ve seen this name before?”

“Yes, when Tara did research on the newspaper articles her name was one of the people that came up in the string of suicide deaths, we learned that they were all the same in a way, a few things had been changed in each article but the whole premise was the same.”

“Holey shit, are you for real?”

Ruth placed her index finger and thumb to rest underneath her chin as she thought aloud at what had accrued so far. “It was odd though, when we started strange stuff started to happen. Well, mainly to Tara, my guess is because she goes to the college and I don’t so I’m not going to be that affected by it. Yet, that thing with the mirror and then that nurse and kid…”
