Liam was able to slip back in the house without being detected, but Anna wasn't so lucky. She liked to at least wash a little of the dirt off of her before climbing into bed. Liam never seemed to drag dirt in with him, but Anna always did. Caiti walked in on Anna, leaning against the wall for support and when Anna turned to look at her Caiti saw her eyes.
"Thought so."
Anna sighed, "Go back to sleep. We'll figure everything out in the morning. I'm too tired to worry about things right now."
Caiti smiled at her, "I know one of your secrets, it's only right that you know one of mine. Theodore told you that my life might be in danger? It's true. The man who caused me to need this brace on my leg could very well be coming after me. He's the reason I hadn't spoken to my parents in years and why I left home at 21 only to have to take care of myself right away after just having had use of one leg taken from me."
"Our secrets are far different, but the gesture is understood. You are welcome to stay here as long as you like. And know that if anyone comes around they will not leave the property alive if they are any sort of threat."
"You scare me."
"I aim to scare a little bit. After what I went through to get my scar it's understandable that I should come off a little scary at first."
"Theodore never mentioned how you got your scar, only that you had one. One day I'd like to trade stories with you."
Anna nodded, "One day."
