-Ed's Pov-

"W-What the hell? What just happened?! I SHOULD BE DEAD!" I yelled, panicked.

"Th-The sparks...you're a  homunculus. More specifically, you're the new Pride." Envy replied sounding surprised. But not as surprised as me I'M A GOD DAMNED HOMUNCULUS! I've spent all this time trying to kill them then all of a sudden I am one, not to mention being in love with one...wait what I uuuuuh... My thoughts were interrupted by Envy.

"Well, since this is all so new to you, I suppose I should help you control your...powers. Pride, though I hate to admit it, is the most powerful homunculus. Pride was the first that was created, embodying the cruelest, most prejudicial, yet most basic aspect of evil. He is the pinnacle of the Homunculi's homunculus-centric beliefs and contempt of humans. He is the second-in-command of the Homunculi, and can also possess the greatest overall physical strength among them only if he is exposed to the light of sources with the right brightness. But given you are still technically our enemy and Father was destroyed, Lust will most likely become in charge. As fo-" He stopped, seeming to notice that I was shaking. "Ed are you ok?" He asked, seeming genuinely concerned.

"I-I can't be a homunculus. I-It's not possible." I said shakily. I clapped my hands together and pressed them against the wall trying to form a door, but it didn't work. My eyes widened I tried again and again but it still didn't work, as I was about to try again Envy grabbed my arms."

"Ed, as a homunculus you don't have the ability to use alchemy. But you have a number of other abilities along with the restoration and immortality that you've seen. For example Creation of a black, personally controllable, multi-eyed, multi-mouthed, and multi-purpose ooze by absorbing light, Shadow omnipresence, Absorption of others' physical traits, and a number of other abilities. Like I said earlier, you are incredibly powerful. But the power itself isn't what's important, how you use it is. You have the potential to be a god damned superhero if you wanted. I was Envious of others and used my abilities to start the ishvalan war. I ho-"He said trying to explain. He was about to say something else but Al popped his head into the room.

"Hey guys you comin'?" Al asked happily.

"Yeah, yeah I'm coming just... just gimme a sec." I replied.

"Ok, brother." Al responded leaving to meet everyone else outside. I started to leave but Envy stopped me.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked. I didn't respond " Look I-I know it's hard to be human and die, then come back as this...this kind of monster with that one nagging question of 'What will everyone think of me?' but you aren't alone. All of the homunculi except the old Pride had to go through this, I just handled it the worst." He said. We stood in silence for a moment before heading outside with everyone else.

"Hey Fullmetal." Mustang said grinning.

"Hey." I said weakly smiling, his face dropped.

"Ed, you ok?" He asked, worried.

"I'm fine, let's just get back to central. Ok?" I responded he just nodded and turned away, walking towards central.

Time skip (Cause I'm lazy)

When we got back to central Al and Envy went to wait in the car to get Resembool. I had to go to Mustangs office first. "All right here's the report, bye colonel." I said turning to leave but I stopped "A-actually Mustang I need to talk to you."

"Allright Fullmetal. About wha-"

"I'm resigning my position as State alchemist."I blurted cutting him off. 

"Fullmetal"

"D-don't call me that." I said cutting him off again.

"Ed, can I atleast have a reason before you go?" He asked. He sounded really upset but I couldn't tell him.

"I-I'm sorry colonel I can't." I said and started to head for the door. Before I could go he stopped me. "Mustang what are yo-" I was cut off by his lips against mine. After a few attempts I finally pushed him off "COLONEL WHAT THE HELL!" I yelled furious.

"Ed I-"

"Goodbye, Roy Mustang." I said coldly before walking out the door and into the car. I was silent for most of the ride but eventually I got into a conversation with Al and before I knew it, we were home.

Sorry for not updating for so long, I've been pretty busy with school but I should be posting more often. I'll post another chapter tomorrow after that I'm probably only gonna have a few more chapters after that, but I've been working on a Hamilton fan-fic and depending on how this book ends I may or may not make a sequel, baiii.
