Guiliana's POV

I turned the corner and stood in the entryway of the kitchen. A women in a scarlet dress with long straightened brown hair stood with her back against the island facing away from me. Grayson wore a navy suit and stood across from her with his hands in his pockets. When I walked in, his attention shifted from whatever Kimberly was talking about and his eyes connected with mine. I didn't know what to say so I just stood there.

"Can I help you?", Grayson asked as he stood up and straightened himself. The woman turned around to see who he was talking to. Wow she's pretty, I thought. She had fair skin, a slim face, high cheekbones, green eyes, and a perfect nose. She looked like a model and standing in her presence made my confidence sink through the floorboards.

"No I- I was just- I just wante-"

"Oh Gray did you get another maid? You know you should really stop letting your help get so comfortable", she said cutting me off and crossing over the island counter to get a better view of me. Did she just really just- oh hell no.

"I'm not the help", I say crossing my arms.

"Well you look like it", she replied cocking her head and walking past me, her heels clacking along with her. Ok who pissed in her caviar. Grayson followed after her, brushing past and completely ignoring me.

"Actually", I say turning around," I was helping Maria in the garden", I finish, gesturing to the backyard.

"Why were you helping Maria? I pay her to work. You don't need to do that.", he told me as he sat down at the grand dining room table. It was the first time he had spoken to me since we saw each other and he didn't even make eye contact.

"Who is she anyways?", Kimberly asked.

"Not important I'll tell you later. Anyways your father and I are still waiting for the case report so get on that", he responded to Kimberly.

"Not important? I'm literally standing right here", I say.

"Ok and your point is? Alright Kimberly you can see yourself out", he said, once again ignoring me. Kimberly nodded, eyes me up and down, then left the room. Then the front door closed.

"So who is she?", I ask curiously without a second thought. Jeez Guiliana eager much.

"That's none of your business", he said with his back still facing me.

"Where were you? You were gone for so long", I say. He rose from his seat and stood in front of me. His face indicated that he wasn't too happy.

"Listen I don't know where all these questions are coming from but I'm putting an end to them. You don't need to know any of that understand?", he spoke, his words coming out as more of a demand than a question.

"Sorry I was just worried", I say. That was the truth. I couldn't stop thinking about his whereabouts ever since he disappeared. I barely knew him but the thought of him being gone forever made my heart ache.

"Well don't be", he spat out. And there he goes being an asshole again.

"Ok you don't have to be such a dick about it", I tell him just as harshly as he spoke to me. If he wanted to be a dick then I guess I would have to grow some balls to match.

"Who the hell do you think you're talking to like that?", he spoke raising his voice and moving towards me, "listen I don't know what you thought was supposed to happen after that kiss but it didn't mean anything then and it doesn't now"

"Well it obviously meant something if you're the one bringing it up and getting so mad about it", I respond back. He now had me cornered against the wall that divided the kitchen and dining room.

"You don't know me", he growled.

"I never said I did", I replied my heart racing. He looked deep into my eyes as if he was searching for something.

"Stay out of my way", he spat out before turning around and leaving. Damn I really pissed him off. The front door closed followed by the sound of his car speeding off. I turned my head to the left and saw Maria looking at me. She quickly looked away almost tripping over a stone. Oh god had she been watching the whole time? I wiped the sweat that had developed on my forehead and exited the dining room. A cold shower was calling my name.
