*Drake POV*
"Why doesn't she like me?" Matthew asked. He's been here for a few weeks and Nic still ignores him for the most part.
"She likes you." I assured him.
"No she doesn't." He said stirring his spoon through his bowl of cereal.
Then Nicki came downstairs, I knew she would find a reason to be mad at Matthew. She walked in and looked at him in disgust.
"Good Morning" Matthew smiled.
"Morning Drake" She turned to me, ignoring Matthew completely.
"Nic, Matthew said Good Morning" I said tentatively when I noticed Matthew start to cry.
"Yeah, whatever." She rolled her eyes.
"Dad?" Matthew called to me after Nic walked to the sink.
"That's not your dad." Nicki snapped, then she paused. Matthew started crying, finally Nic turned and faced him. "I'm sorry" she went over to him and hugged him for the first time.
"It's okay" Matthew sobbed as she picked him up. She took him upstairs and I just sat there, speechless. Up until now I really thought she had no emotions towards kids, especially Matthew.
*Nicki POV*
"choo choo" Matthew said chugging the toy train around the track. I felt really bad for what I had said to them, I felt worse about what would've been said if I didn't catch myself. It really made me realize even though he is little he has feelings too.
I still don't know what to do with kids, so far I gathered we actually have to feed them regularly, as well as bathe them. We have to play with them, love and care for them.
This will be hard, but if I focus on just Matthew it'll be fine.
"I'm gonna start buying you some more trains and some more tracks for them, but only when you're good." I smiled, "Tomorrow morning I will go to the store and get you a green train."
"Henry?" His eyes lit up.
"Henry is the name of the green train?" I hadn't realised the trains all had names but then I remembered his blue train had 'Thomas' written in whire on the bottom so I imagine the green train must say 'Henry' as well.
(Next Day)
I woke up, Drake and Matthew were fast asleep so I crept out to the car and drove to the store.
*Drake POV*
I woke up and Nic was gone, I thought she might've gotten Matthew up early but he was still in his crib. I figured she must've went out early or something so I went back to bed.
