"Megan." My brother smiled and held his arms out. I stumbled to him and buried my face into his shoulder.

"Jake." I cried.

I felt rather then saw Adrian slump to the floor, one hand hovering at my back.

"You have a brother?"

I looked up in time to see Ambrose dent the wall with his fist.

"How?" He growled.

"I remember, no thanks to you." I meant to say it harshly but I had to snivel half way through ruining the effect. Jake wiped my tears away.

"Don't cry." He smiled a single tear sliding down his cheek and falling from his lip.

"I never thought I'd see you again." I whispered.

"Never give up hope." We laugh quietly as we remember the many times our mother had spoken the same words so many years ago.

The sound of running feet caused us all to look up.

"What is..?" Derek started then saw me in Jake's arms. "Megan, are you alright?" He asked alarmed.

"I'm fine Derek." I cleared my throat. "This is..." I hesitated, scared that saying the words would somehow make this night disappear.

"I'm her brother." Jake said for me. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself properly but I needed to know if Megan remembered me first."

Derek froze and mouthed the word 'brother' over and over again. I smiled at him and waited for him to compose himself. His eyes flicked to Ambrose, who looked furious, then to his son. Adrian's face was frozen in utter shock.

"But I thought... you didn't remember..."

"The pills wore off." I admitted sheepishly.

"Pills?" Jake asked.

"Her memories were hurting her." Ambrose growled. "We had to stop... slow them down."

"I'm sorry." Jake whispered but I shook my head.

"It wasn't your fault."

Ambrose and Jake shared a look.

'So maybe I haven't remembered everything.' I thought.

Adrian abruptly stood.

"Adrian?" I said.

"I... I just need..." He trailed off and turned away.

"Adrian!" I tried to stand but Jake held me tighter.

"Please don't stress Megan." He said.

"He's just in shock." Derek said, his voice thin. "He just needs time."

"But..."

Derek turned his gaze to me. His eyes filled his worry. I knew he was trying to tell me something but I couldn't work it out.

"We should go inside." Jake suggested when I shivered.

"Yes let's." Derek agreed.

I stood and leaned into Jake's shoulder for a moment. "I have to go." I barely breathed the words but everyone heard.

"Megan, I..." Jake looked worried and confused.

"I need to talk to him. Explain."

"He needs time." Derek said again but I could tell his heart wasn't in it.
