Flicker (noun)

Source of light.

"Our love was like a thread on a cloth, a knot in the fabric of time and space, a spilled ink on a piece of paper, a scar on one's skin, a glass being broken, an open book that I should've refused, a star that won't shine again." I managed to write as I bleed. Shaking, I let go of the pen that I'm gripping. All of the hopes that I've been keeping disappeared as I am slowly learning how to walk again.

I should learn how to walk in the light.

Once, I've been walking towards the uncertainty as the never-ending darkness surrounds me like wildfire. I'm all by myself, but it was peaceful. Suddenly, I heard a sound. Footsteps. Heavy breathing. And then there's a light coming from him. It's a stranger.. with a flicker. I can feel the sting in my eyes as tears form in them. Hopes and joy and everything beyond my comprehension starts to suffocate my lungs, making my heart ache and making my brain swirl in chaos.

Help. My brain started to whisper the things that my heart already considered forbidden. But then he came, even without the words that I bleed. He became the light that I need. He was the bravest when I don't have the courage to keep on going. I was restrained, but he unchained me from my fears.

Yet, he was one of them.

He was my least, my greatest, my only fear.

Together with the stars, hope, and light, he left.

One of the things that I learned from him is that everyone of us shine. That everyone of us have their own set of flicker. You don't need anyone to have some light and warmth.

Because you have them within your heart.
