Two children laughed as they walked to the temple. As they opened the door, a centipede-like monster rushed at them, hissing before it was ensnared by a purple whip. "Wow," the twins gasped as Amethyst slammed the creature into the wall before it became a cloud of smoke. Just then, Pearl noticed them. "Oh Steven! You're back! Sorry about the mess, we'll get the centipedles out of your room soon enough. We think that they're trying to get into the temple." "Our room." Nora corrected, but Pearl didn't seem to notice. Nora sighed. "Why do I bother?"

Nora thought about what happened earlier as she hit a punching bag that hung from a tree. Why? She thought. Why does Pearl ignore me like that? And it's not just her, Steven does it too. Garnet and Amethyst always notice me, so why don't they? As she thought, she grew progressively angrier until with a snap, the chain that the punching bag was connected to broke and the bag went flying, slamming through multiple trees as it did. Nora looked at her hands. "Did I just do that?"
