The sweltering afternoon sun was far behind the horizon by the time I was trudging home. I was tired and sweaty from sitting in that hot truck space for hours. All I wanted was to shower then sleep, that's all I could take right now.
Finally making it to my house, I trudged up the steps and to the mahogany wood door. I tiredly and awkwardly pulled my keys out of my pocket, man I'm gonna be knocked out tonight.

Opening the door I stepped in, as I turned to close it ,the door suddenly slammed close in my face. I was shoved farther into the house, falling hard on my ass. Before I could complain the lights flicked on to reveal the devil herself.

My aunt stood by the now closed door, glaring angrily at my fallen form. She was obviously upset, I don't know why. I did everything I was supposed to, I went on my missions, turned in the money, and didn't get complaints. She had no reason to be upset!

"I heard you had quite the encounter during your mission today." She growled, arms crossed and tensing with every breath.

"Y-yeah, there wasn't a h-huge problem I took care of it-"

"Took care of it?!" She yelled, stomping up to me and grabbing my shirt, "With the reckless way you were fighting there were damages to the truck that we have to pay for now!"
She threw me to the floor and stomped on my leg, causing me to cry out in pain.
"This type of insolence is what makes us lose money! You're wasting my time! I should've thrown you into the street long ago!" She sneered, continually kicking me with her ruby heels.

Every word was accented with a blow to my body, every blow caused me to convulse in pain. I was bleeding somewhere, I don't know where. My body was growing warm and numb.

Sooner or later she got bored of me and left. I feebly pulled myself upto my hands and knees, dark liquid spilling helplessly out of my mouth. For the next, what I assume to be, ten minutes I crawled up the stairs and into my bathroom.
Bracing myself against the tub I started to strip out of my sweaty, blood stained clothes. Each movement I made brought an intense sting of pain, but my only goal was to get to sleep.

After the long tedious process of pulling myself into the shower, dressing my wounds, putting on a T-shirt and finally flopping into bed, I had a gut feeling that maybe I should check my phone. Either that or a wound opened up after the many failed attempts at climbing onto the bed. The wood floors are very hard.

After cringing at the bright light of my phone I noticed a large amount of messages from my online friend.

Matryoshgay: YOOYPYOYYO

Matryoshgay: GIESS WHAT

Matryoshgay: Guess**

Matryoshgay: I GOT INTO UA

Matryoshgay: AND I SAW A CUTE PUNK ROCK GIRL!!!

Matryoshgay: ah,,,,,i see,,,,,,you must be,,,,,,,busy

Matryoshgay: ill just be here,,,,,,,alone,,,,,,,,

Matryoshgay: Tfw no likes text you back

Matryoshgay: @everyone who gets texted back,,,,,,,mbn

I smiled and wheezed out a pathetic excuse for a laugh. These were sent over a few hours while I was working. I felt weight on my stomach and saw Cerberus in shadow form, resting tiredly.
I placed my hand on my stomach tenderly, "Guess she did a number on you too." I commented, feeling Cerberus weakly hum in response.

I turned back to my phone and messaged her back. Hopefully she'll understand why I didn't text back.

"Nemuri, Are you absolutely sure this was the same quirk?"

"Yes! Of course I am! I grew up around that quirk! I know it like the back of my hand," exclaimed Nemuri, also known as Midnight. She was tired of people asking if she was sure. She was absolutely sure!
Even if she wasn't sure it's too late now! They were already heading back to see if they could find her godkid. They know the area they were in and the gang boss spilled the second they threatened to turn him in. Of course they still turned him in, but on a lesser sentence for helping with an investigation.

Aizawa looked at her wearily, before speaking, "How'd you get a god kid and why aren't they in Japan?"

Midnight sighed before leaning back in her chair, closing her eyes as if looking at the past.

"My childhood friend had just given birth to her third and final kid. When she was first born I remember how I could see both parents in her, from the way she moved to the way she looked. She just copied what they did and adapted it to her own. She lived in Japan for 5 years about, until her quirk manifested, well more like quirks manifested."

"She has more than one?" Aizawa interrupted, curiosity pulling at his mind.

"Yes she did," Midnight added, slightly shocked at her companions sudden outburst.

"When her quirks manifested, they were pretty different to her parents and siblings. Even the repercussions were...gruesome. Somehow her aunt persuaded her parents to allow her to train and care for the kid. That was the last time I saw her." Midnight finished, guilt pulling at her features. If only she had been more attentive and tried to persuade them in a different direction, her godkid wouldn't be working with villains!

Aizawa leaned forward and out a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "Don't blame yourself for things out of your control, you can't change it now. All we can do is help build a better future."

Midnight smiled and looked out the window at the dark cityscape.

Sakura, wherever you are, I'm gonna help you.
