It was a cold night at Green Rock, the trees, glittering in the moonlight, swayed calmly back and fourth. Ella walked out of the old, brick house, her blue dressing gown slightly dragging on the ground. She held a black torch that shot a bright, white light strait into the black sky. the moon was covered with a grey cloud and there was very little light around the small town.
Small waves pushed along the endless river, they were almost as if they were trying to get away from something. Ella walked slowly toward the river, flashing her torch around before each step. A distant owl hooted in a tree as the smell of nighttime fog slowly drifted away. Each and every tree towered over her, casting a different shadow every time. Ella had snuck out just after her parents went to bed.
Ella's long, brown ponytail swayed back and fourth as she reached the small path that she had made a couple of weeks ago and picked up the pace. She wove down the path, between trees, bushes and rocks until she reached a small wooden playhouse. The wood was brown an worn with pieces missing and no door. It was like it had been attacked by something. She stopped. She looked around, checking that nobody was there, then she pulled out a small, silver key from her dressing gown pocket. The moonlight hit the key as she put the key in the lock on the side of one of the walls.
