Ella felt bad. She had completely forgotten what time it was. She looked at her watch, it read 4:43. "Oh no!" She gasped "I've got to get back home before my parents notice I'm gone" she left at once. Hannah walked up to the table in the middle of the room, she lifted up one of the candles. It was strange, like it was connected to the table because one part couldn't lift up. A tiny hole opened in the floor about the size of a cat flap. In a flash, Hannah turned Ito a bat and flew down just before it closed over again.
Meanwhile, Ella was walking swiftly back towards the house. Her dressing gown was dragging on the ground and got caught on a shrub. She tripped and landed roughly on some dirt and gravel. She couldn't see how bad it was but she definitely knew that it hurt. The torch was smashed between some rocks and didn't work anymore. The moon was going down fast and didn't light the sky much at all and she could only see a little.
Knowing that Ella's house was about 10 minutes away and her dad would be up at five to get ready for work, she started to hurry but there's only so fast you can go when you can feel blood dripping down your leg.
