Confessions Of An Insecure Lover

20 5 1

My lover,
Does not look at me
With excitement or happiness
When he meets me in the morning
Rather,
His eyes are overcast with weariness
He leans on to me
Tired of battling
He's home
To me
'Cause when we are arguing
It's us against the problem
Not against each other
His eyes coaxes mine
"Give me some comfort"
Maybe I can't
Maybe I'm not a well-built home
To endure the storms
A carpet of thorns
Walls stone cold
Yet he leans on to me
And I scream from inside
"Why are you searching in me?"
Why, why, why
It's a tightening spiral
Of pure confusion, wonder and fear
All at the same time.
