The Fake Blonde

Polaroids and guitar strings
When we were seventeen
A little shy of being 'complete'
Calling a glass half-full half-empty
Summer afternoon, spring tide
The sea so wide & of might
Sand crumbles like our wishes
Between our feet and ungiven kisses
I remember your faint smiles
Hiding an exhaust of tears inside
A second chance was not enough
Millions reasons to call it tough
Private beach & trespassing
Few talks and more cussing.
Had gone back a few years
In the rollercoaster of nostalgia
Disney tea cups and fireworks
Cotton candies & a lust for fun
Shoelaces untied, clothes were shed
Like whiskey shots you once forbade
Floating on the sea so big
As chest of secrets that lies in deep
The perfect life is a fairytale
We never wished to go that way.
Highway police, sirens screech
The sun winks at the beach
Warnings, maybe two or three
Handcuffs ready to skinny dip
Our laughter spreads like wildfire
Indigo blankets over mountains higher
Half-full half-empty
Naked souls, wet fingertips
Salty smile under your blue eyes
A fake blonde can be thousand skies.

For those who have read my other poem "When The Sky Merges Into You", you must know the sky necessarily doesn't mean the one above our head. Readers are free to interpret as they like. Vote and comment :)
