Life is boring ESPECIALLY when you're in 12th grade and it JUST started. It's not even one month since my last year of school started and I'm already over it. DNA by BTS rung in my ears and I groaned as I snoozed my alarm and rolled onto the other side of my bed. Just as I dozed off to sleep again my alarm began to ring and this time I had to wake up for real. Every day as I wake up I cheer myself up thinking how many more days for the weekend to arrive, unfortunately I had 4 long days to endure before I'm reunited with the love of my life... the weekend and... Well, sleep. My school Silver Wood High's first and foremost priority is to make sure that all students look ugly especially in their last year of school by assigning hideous uniforms to us. It consists of a white shirt with green stripes, olive green pants (which of course make you look like a green penguin... no offense to penguins), a green tie, belt and an ID tag. If any one of these items are missing you are bound to receive an earful for not following the rules and such.
I finished dressing and went to the kitchen and grabbed my glass of milk, had some food and ran of the house. My heart was longing to go under the warm and comfortable covers of my bed as I inched towards my school. School starts at around 7:30am so obviously no student in the entire building is fully awake especially me as I still believed this was a bad nightmare and I would wake up soon.
Our school decided to have 1 hour classes and 6 such classes where we had a "short break" (by short I mean hardly a 3 minute break where the students are expected to eat food, use the washroom and socialize).
Today our first class was English the only subject I actually enjoyed (save for the long reading) as usual I slumped next to my friend Megan who was furiously completing her homework not even bothering to look up. Our table was littered with tons of papers, pens, pencils what not. Mrs. Levi my class teacher then arrived and took our attendance and left as Ms. Beth my English teacher placed her books on the table and we began class. After English we continued with the rest of the subjects I'd rather not explain each of them as it would bore both you and me.
Finally after what felt like 3 centuries which in reality was just 3 hours was done it was time for break where I went to meet up with my 2 best friends Soph (Sophie) and Abby (Abigail) who were hogging food in the crowded corridor.
"That's mine!" Shouted Abby and grabbed a chicken nugget from Soph and chucked it into her mouth.
I rolled my eyes and said "You guys, seriously instead of fighting over such stupid things fight for something that actually does carry a reason"
And as the two were listening to what I was saying I discretely grabbed a nugget from Abby's box and put it into my mouth.
Snorting at what I just did Soph turned to Abby and said "Well if you hadn't been that interested in what Krissie here was saying you would have noticed there's one less nugget in your box".
Hearing this Abby's eyes widened and looked down to find there were now only 2 nuggets instead of 3 and she launched herself on me with a war cry.
After spending some time with Abby and Soph I just wandered around the corridor and met up with Lauren. Now Lauren, I feel would demand a 5 page introduction but let's cut it down to a few facts:
1) She's hot.
2) She is friends with practically the entire school.
3) She is Regina George and I'm her Karen Smith/Gretchen Wieners (except she's not mean like Regina).
Lauren and I became friends only last year and that was because of a project in class and after that she felt it was her duty to become my "socializing guru" and no matter how hard I try to make her understand that I don't want to be her "social guru(ing)" experiment she just won't listen.
So I'm her "sad-nerd-non-sociable-friend" who is supposed to tail around like a lost puppy or something. Anyway I saw a large group of people this as usual kicked in my non-socializing instinct and made me wish I was rather at home eating food and watching a Korean drama.
I slowly walked towards the group (regretting it by the second) and waved and smiled to the few people I knew suddenly I heard my name being yelled out in that familiar high pitched voice belonging to Lauren.
I smiled and walked to her when she slung her arm around me and urged me to join the conversation which at the time was about the newest song released by some random dude.
I just nodded along to whatever they were saying and pretended to listen where as usual my mind wandered to just observe the surroundings and how people were laughing, talking and that weird dude in the corner just picking his nose (Ew!).
Just the usual when suddenly the bell rang signaling everyone to get back to their classes, so Lauren with her arm looped around mine walked towards our class which was Economics. This was the only class where I was reunited with my best friends Sophie and Abigail, so we made sure economics is the best class ever by making as many sarcastic comments and bad puns as possible. Once we reached class Lauren waved goodbye to me and walked towards some of her friends while I spotted Abby and walked towards her holding my Economics register I had forgotten to do the homework and decided to refer it from Abby.
Suddenly someone slapped my back I turned around to see Soph grinning and holding the register with which she hit me and said, "Well... well look who forgot to do their homework, it's a surprise you forgot it considering how you always complete you work on time so that you don't "get caught" she smirked.
I just rolled my eyes and grabbed my register and walked to Abby and sat next to her. Soph followed my suit and sat behind me and opened her book and pretended to read it as Mrs. Levi was staring at her.
The next 40 minutes were a blur of graphs, demand curves and sarcastic remarks, once the class got over I walked towards the door chatting with Abby and Soph when the next teacher Miss Ashley waltzed through the door and slammed the door shut.
I could see through the small glass window sort of thing on the door Abby and Soph were standing with their eyes wide open and mouth agape. Miss Ashley was our new business management teacher who just joined last month, when she left a unique but long lasting impression on our class.
Same as how she waltzed into the room like today with her distinguished sense of fashion (a crop top, palazzo and ash grey ombre hair... pretty unusual for a teacher) she had done so a month ago claiming to make our business management class unlike other classes. "Unique, fun and creative is how I want my students to be so please if you want to eat or pass notes in class do so in a unique and creative way" is what she said. Of course after hearing that the class began hooting and cheering for Miss Ashley who stood in front of us with a satisfied smirk.
