I frowned as Samuel awkwardly bit small pieces of the cookie my mom offered him. After his surprise arrival at my house my mom invited him in and sent him to my room (which by the way I had cleaned up). He didn't say anything and neither did I, my mom came in 5 minutes later and offered us cookies which I obviously ate up within a few minutes and was wondering why he had to take the cookie if he wasn't going to eat it.
"So... I'll bite, why did you come here?" I asked I couldn't waste any more time. What if he bites a piece off all the cookies?
"I know who you are" he said.
I rolled my eyes "Well I'm pretty sure I introduced myself earlier."
"No... I mean I know you're Krystal Evans..."
"And I don't?"
He sighed in exasperation and said "I know that you are Krystal Evans the girl who... studied with me in freshman year!"
My breath hitched when he completed that sentence. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me along with the plate of cookies.
We both didn't say anything until I took a deep breath and said "So how did you know?... I mean I like to believe puberty did a fairly good job."
He nodded "You do look nothing like how you did back then I wouldn't have found out either but I guess the roll call gave you away."
"Well why did you come all the way to my house for telling me that you're aware of my identity?" I asked.
"I... j-just I'm not sure myself. At first it took me a while to believe that you're the same Krissie I knew back then."
"Its Krystal." I said he looked at me and then continued "I mean the way you talk, look e-everything has changed" he paused "Why?"
I scoffed "You're asking me "Why?" come on I don't want to start all over again now. If you're done with what you had to say... Uh-ba-bye" I said gesturing towards my door.
A cold hard gaze settled upon his eyes and gritting his teeth said "Fine but I don't want anything that... happened to be known in school."
"Ditto."
He stood up dusting off the cookie crumbs off of his jeans. Great now I have to clean up this mess too once he leaves. He made his way to the front door and curtly nodded to mom on his way.
As he put on his shoes near the door he looked up and said "I wish things could be the way they were before..."
"Well you shouldn't have screwed up in the first place.... Literally." saying this I slammed the door shut on his face. I know that's rude and but my patience was wearing thin and I'm glad (in a way) that I didn't slam my fist onto his face earlier.
I walked into the living room to find my mom poised on the sofa like those mothers in k-dramas ( y'know the one who sits with legs crossed and with a cup of tea in her hand... except my mom had a cup of coffee and it was for me) I just stared at her and tried to make my way past into my bedroom but of course not.
I mean you can't really blame my mom, she finds this random dude coming into our house at night, demands to talk to her unsociable daughter and (but hey my mom offered cookies... who does that?) leaves the house putting her daughter in a worse mood (considering I'm already in a bad mood which I was).
So yeah, I do owe my mom an explanation. Hence, I turned around walked towards one of the sofas and sat down ready to explain whatever just happened (omitting the parts that I had to, like my past with Samuel) when the doorbell rings again.
My mom and I just stare at each other both of us annoyed at the arrival of this random person. So, I get up and open the door to find... my dad. Okay I didn't expect that although my dad comes home at this time everyday.
My dad just gave me a weird look and walked past me to grab the coffee from my mom and gulp it down in one go. Seriously?! That was mine! And my mom gladly gave it to him! What is happening?
Once I calmed down after the coffee drinking episode of my dad (my mom had to make another cup of coffee and add a sizable amount of whipped cream onto it only then would I calm down), I decided to tell my mom about Samuel, that he was a grade A grasshole and I absolutely don't like him.
Once I finished telling my mom (of course I didn't elaborate it) she gave me a few cookies to console me and told me to sleep it off.
So, I gladly ate the cookies and laid down on my bed trying to get some sleep when my phone screen lit up with a message. It said, "Hey can you send me the answers for the economics homework?" I squinted to see who it was from and groaned when I realised it was from Nicky.
Being the nice person that I am I replied "No. *insert smiley face emoji* ".
"Why???"
"Because I don't want to."
Honestly I just remembered that we had economics homework when Nicky texted me. So I got out of my bed to start working on it when
"I will tell this "Zerena" dude that you like him."
Really? He's gonna stoop that low? And plus he doesn't even know who "Zerena" is!
"Okay... because you totally know who "Zerena is." I typed back.
The next message was the reason why I was left with eyebags as dark as my soul the next morning.
"Oh but I do... it's Zeke Ryan from math class. How surprised is he going to be when he discovers that Miss Krystal Evans has been crushing on him. *insert evil laugh*".
