Not once in your life did you have an issue with having guy friends and gaining feelings for them. Hell, you were the type of girl that ended up having more guy friends than anything because of the bullshit drama most girls like to get into. That was not your style at all. You liked to go to the bars with your friends, drink beers and watch the football games. That was just the kind of person you were and you would never change yourself.
But just because you had lots of guy friends, doesn't mean you didn't like to do the more girly things. You had a major shopping problem, an addiction really. Retail therapy was the best kind of therapy in your eyes. You also loved to get pampered by treating yourself to spa days. When you were at home, you lounged around in sweats and t-shirts or tank tops, but when you went to the bars with your guy friends, you put an effort into your appearance. Let's just say you always ended up getting nasty glares from girls when they saw you hanging with a group of guys. You could only imagine what kind of thoughts they had about you.
Your perfect record for not falling for any of your guy friends suddenly changed when you met him. Chris Evans came to the bar one night with a mutual friend nearly one year ago, and the two of you had become practically inseparable. You were the first person he would call if he wanted to go out for a drink, or to see a movie, or just hang out. Things were great at first, but then those feelings came bubbling up the more you got to know him. It was when you first saw his directorial debut of "Before We Go" that you had seen another side to him; a tender, loving side that truly drew your feelings out.
Never had you met anyone with such a magnetic personality as Chris had. He was intellectually brilliant, had good judgement, and was always mindful; paying attention to his surroundings instead of being distracted. Those kinds of qualities and personality traits were so hard to find in men today, that it not really surprised you when those feelings began to develop.
But you pushed those feelings down; blocked those feelings as much as you could when you were around him. All your life you were more of a people pleaser, and you just wanted Chris to be happy; he deserved it.
It was Saturday night and you were stocking your fridge with beer, laying out a bunch of junk food as Chris was coming over for a movie marathon. These were your favorite times with Chris, when it was just the two of you and away from public prying eyes.
Just as you were setting down a few beers on the coffee table, there was a knock at your door. You quickly made your way to the front door, unlocking it and opening the door wide to see Chris standing there with a stack of movies, and the blanket from his house you always used when curled on the couch watching television.
"I can't believe you brought the damn blanket," you remarked with a laugh; Chris coming through the door and handing it to you.
"It's your favorite! And you're my favorite girl so I figured you would want to snuggle with it for our marathon." Your heart flitted as he called you his 'favorite girl' but you quickly pushed that feeling down; not wanting to ruin the night.
The two of you got settled onto your couch; his blanket wrapped around you like a burrito as you placed your legs on the coffee table. You placed the bowl of popcorn between the two of you as the movie began. As the beginning credits began to roll you couldn't help the giggle that escaped your mouth.
Chris looked over at you. "What?" he questioned with a smirk.
"The Notebook? Really Chris?"
"What's wrong with The Notebook?? It's a great movie!"
You full on snorted, causing you to laugh some more. "I know it's a great movie! It's just not something I imagined you picking out to watch tonight. As usual Chris, you surprise me at every turn," you responded with a wink.
As the movie progressed, the more beers you and Chris drank; along with mountains of junk food. Luckily Chris just finished filming Captain America: Civil War and didn't need to worry about his workout routine. Before long the movie came to the sex scene near the end and you audibly groaned.
Chris laughed, the couch shaking from it. "What was that noise for?"
"Ugh, look at that!" you replied, your hand pointing to the television. "I need to get laid and I need to get laid like THAT! Look at how much passion, how much desire they are pouring into one another!"
Chris didn't say anything and you turned to face him; his eyes wide, smile to match. "Tell me how you really feel?"
"Oh shut up," you joked as you threw a handful of popcorn at him.
Once the movie finished Chris eagerly got up from his seat to put in the next movie. When the two of you had movie marathons, the person who wasn't hosting got to bring the movies and it was kept a secret until the movie played. Taking another chug of beer, you waited to see what movie was going to play next.
As the opening scene began to play, an ecstatic smile came about your face; your hand in a fist displayed proudly in the air as Chris laughed on. It was 'The Breakfast Club' and Chris damn well knew that anything directed by John Hughes was your favorite.
You had seen the movie dozens of times before and you kept whispering much of the dialogue; Chris teasing you each time but you loved that playful banter between you two.
"I love how each character is different, yet they end up falling for each other. The jock and the basket case and the princess and the criminal. It's what I love about this movie," you spoke quietly as the movie played. Turning to Chris, you brows furrowed together. "What's your type Chris? What type of woman are you attracted to most?"
Chris cocked his head to the side; neither looking at you or the television as you could see he was pondering what he was going to say. When he finally decided what he wanted to say, he turned his whole body to you; giving you his full attention. "Most people would say what they are physically attracted to, and to a point, I would agree. There has to be some sort of physical attraction, but at the same time, the personality is what truly does it for me. I like woman who are laid back, who don't feel the need to put on a gallon of makeup just to step outside. Woman who are comfortable wearing sneakers instead of heels. The person I'm with has to be driven, have passion in their life."
Each time Chris described the type of woman he was attracted to, your heart began to speed up. You had a lot of those qualities he was talking about, but you didn't want to push your luck; you didn't want to lose him as a friend.
"What about you Y/N? What type of guy are you attracted to?"
You took a deep breath, knowing full well you needed to be careful of what you said because in all honesty, you just wanted to describe everything about Chris. Peering up at Chris through your lashes, you gave him a smirk. "Looks aren't too big of a deal to me too, he just has to be taller than me for sure. I like guys who are mindful because they are being aware of the situation around them. It is the most annoying thing in the world when you are trying to have a conversation with someone and they are distracted on their phone, or not paying attention. I also like guys who are romantics because I think that is a very special aspect in a relationship for me."
Chris nodded his head as he you spoke, taking in your words. You could have easily said more but you didn't want to give away your feelings for him. As you sat there you began to examine Chris' face. He looked crestfallen and you were wondering if it was because he was lonely. During the entire year that you had known him, he never had a girlfriend. You had, at the beginning of this friendship with him, have a boyfriend but it didn't last more than a few months. Just wanting your friend to be happy, no matter how heartbroken you would get in the process, an idea came to mind.
"What if I set you up on a blind date?"
