The Diary of Bellatrix Lestrange

October 14th 1966

My name is Bellatrix Black. I am 16 years of age and the oldest of my three sisters. My younger sister Andromada is 10 years of age. And my youngest sister is Narcissa who is 8 years of age. I am in my fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am a pureblood witch in the noble house of Slytherin. My cousin Regulus Black is also in my house. His younger brother Sirius is in the house of Gryffindor breaking a line of noble Slytherins.

October 15th 1966

So while I was walking down the left wing corridor yesterday a little Gryffindor knocked into me. Being the person I am, I stupified the kid and just then Professor Senegra came walking down the corridor and caught me. After sitting in the headmasters office for a while I got detention for a week with her, my least favorite. Oh well at least Regulus will be there tonight.

October 16th 1966

Detention was torture. All Professor did was talk about her last date when she was in like her third year. After getting out at ten o'clock I headed back to the dormitory with Regulas. And guess who just had to show up! Sirius! How dare he show his face to me. He greeted me with a smile. As if I would ever talk to him.

October 17th 1966

All Hallows Eve is coming up and people are franticly trying to find dates. It's all worthless! Why should I have to dress up, find a date, and go to a stupid party. But it's mandated for all students to go. Oh! Here comes Tom Riddle.

October 16th 1966

Well I won't be able to go to the ball with Tom. I have to go with Rodolphus Lestrange my new fiancé. I just got the letter from Mother and Father yesterday.

Dear Bella,

We hope you are having a good time at Hogwarts this year. Your sisters can't wait to see you. We know you are only fourteen and don't even want to think about marriage but we have found a wonderful husband for you, Rodolphus Lestrange. You both are to come to the estate on the Christmas holiday. Have a wonderful time at school.

They are trying to run my life. I do not want to marry. I hardly even know him.

October 18th 1966

I have a date to the dance. I am still not happy I have to go but at least now I gave someone to go through the misery with me. Rodolphus is so uninteresting. I still have to find a gown. I have mothers old ball gown that will work perfectly.

October 19th 1966

Well I got detention again, and this time I wasn't late. We had Potions with Gryffindor and...well, you can guess how that went.

I got my dress for the dance yesterday and it fits perfectly. A new group of kids has joined up after a seventh year Tom Riddle, called the Death Eaters. Rodolphus is a part of it and wants me to join. I'm not sure. Maybe if it gets a few more members I will join.

October 20th 1966

After two weeks of detention I finaly got to get to even think about the dance. Cissy sent me a package yesterday. My Great Grandmother's necklace. A silver pendant shaped as a bird's skull. I was so happy! It goes perfectly with my dress.The only wish I didn't have to go with Rodolphus.

October 21st 1966

My best friend Katelyn Garder is going to the dance with Tom Riddle! She knows I like him. She may be in her sixth year but that doesn't mean she can do that to me.Why do I have to go with Rodolphus? If I can't go with Tom why should she! I wish Mother and Father would stop trying to run my life!
