Chapter 10- the first match -part 2

The next day was the hardest. I didn't have Mr. Jackson but when I saw him in the halls, I quickly walked away without him seeing. Well, I hope he didn't see. Grayson was planning on how to set up a camera in the room without being caught. We all had different jobs: my math teacher had to keep on doing his perverted actions, Grayson had to be by my side and I had to keep a poker face on and act as if I was vulnerable.

Even though it's on camera, it doesn't mean that I won't get hurt.

---------
A light nudging on my shoulder wakes me up, but I keep my eyes closed as my alarm hasn't yet gone off.

"Yo, Katie, wake up."

"Grayson, allow me to have more sleep please."

"Nope, we need to hook you up with a wireless mic." He pulls me lightly up by my hands until I'm sitting, facing him.

"What do you mean?" I yawn. "What wireless mic?"

"The thing that'll give us better audio when we show the tape to the police."

I never thought about that. Well, I mean, I'd known it would happen but what if he does take off my clothes? What if he kisses me? I'm not sure I want the police to see that....

"Katie?" Grayson taps me to wake me out of my thought. "You alright?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine."

"Okay, well unless you need help, I'll be outside, call me when you're done putting on the mic."

"Why?" I ask as he turns to walk out of my room.

Standing by the door, he looks at me with a funny look. "You know we have to test it right? You're not walking into the room with a dead microphone." He says, and shuts the door on his way out.

"The mic may not be dead but I sure might be." I mumble as I get out of bed and figure out how to hide the mic, without being obvious that I'm hiding a microphone under my shirt. "Okay Grayson, you can come in."

-----

We get to school and like my mood, the sky is dark and it looks like it's going to rain...should've brought my umbrella.

"Okay, you know what you're doing yeah?" Grayson confirms the plan with me. "Alright, let's do this."

I walk into my last lesson, which happened to be Math. Mr. Jackson looks me up and down.

"Nice to see you again Katherin." He smiles, quite innocently. Weird.

"Hi." I say and walk quickly to my seat. We get on with the lesson, but like usual, sir has got his attention on me. He sees that I'm not paying attention.

"After school with me Katherin, or you can focus now." He states and turns back to the whiteboard to continue the example.

Katie, you have to make sure he keeps you behind.

"Like you have the guts to keep me behind." I mumble, loud enough for him and the class to hear. He whips round to face me and puts both his hands in front of me on my desk.

"Did you have something to say?" The whole room, including myself, goes silent. I think if anybody dropped a hair band, you could hear it.

Let me remind you, hair bands don't make a sound, and if they do... well, shame. It was that quiet.

I raise from my desk to make sure I'm looking at him in the eye. He stares at me, a bit taken back at my confidence but he doesn't budge.

"Yeah, I said, like you have the guts to keep me behind." He glares at me and we hold tense eye contact. "Unless you're getting too old, I'd be happy to say it again." I don't blink, neither does he. The room is still silent and the air is thick with suspense.
"You're pushing your luck, do you want detention? I would have to give you some sort of punishment to keep you quiet." He says.

Bingo. I've got him, now let's confirm the situation.

"Try me." I state. He looks me up and down and he chuckles to himself.

"See you in detention Katherin." He grins and faces back round to the front. Mission accomplished.

-----

I sat there, watching the other students file out. The hands on the clock seemed to be moving really slowly and one minute felt like an eternity. My teacher wasn't facing me, he was writing something down on his desk, probably to look like a teacher giving a normal detention. Yeah, 'normal'. Although I felt protected, due to the camera hidden and Grayson being round the corner, my heart started to beat quicker and my palms started to sweat. I was nervous, so I tried to take my mind off of it, but he decided to speak....

"Had a lot of attitude today Miss Katherin." He slowly raises his head before putting the pen cap back on the red stationery. "Do you not remember what I said about the attitude?"
He raises himself from the desk and pushes the chair back whilst he stands. I decide not to look weak and remain eye contact with him the whole time.
"Like I've said before, you really weren't faking the stupidity were you?" He bitterly said, dropping his head and looking at the floor. He walked over to the classroom door and I hear the 'clicking' that alerts me that we're now locked in.

I'm locked in a room with a teacher who could abuse me....and I'm just sitting here, playing with my shirt.

I look up from the edge of my shirt and he's there. I can feel his breath on my face, I can see every single frown and laughter line formed over the years. His hands are placed on the desk. I swallow a lump of nerves that I didn't realise had formed in my throat.
"You're so pretty, Miss Mitchell." He sneers. I move my chair back a few centimetres so that he's not as close, but he leans further across.

"I'm not sure that's appropriate, Mr. Jackson." I reply, swallowing my nerves.

"Your behaviour isn't appropriate."

"I can say the same about you sir." I say with attitude. A sick smile forms across his face before he starts laughing to himself. "Last time I checked, I'm not in a stand up comedy act, so I don't see why you're laughing."

He didn't like that.

I can tell, because the left side of my face is now throbbing and my knuckles are white from having to steady myself on my chair, to make sure I didn't fall off.

"You're really annoying when you open your mouth Katherin." He tilts his head to look at me as if he's amused to see me in pain. "It's okay to cry you know. I can see you want to."

"It's okay to walk away now, otherwise you can deal with the police." I say with a smirk.

"And where's your evidence darling?"

"Don't call me 'darling'." I snap back. "You'll find out sooner or later, preferably sooner."

I don't know why he's laughing, but he is.

He's unbuttoning his shirt, I don't know why, okay I know why...but he is.

Now I'm scared.

Ping!

My phone vibrates in my pocket and I look down, so does he.

It's Grayson.

I'll be there in a minute.

I look up but, my teacher isn't there. Panic spreads across my face until I feel the breath behind me.

He's seen the message.

He knows someone's coming.

There's a loud bang.

I realise it's come from me.
