~Kat~

"So where is this English classroom?" Kat watched as a stampede of teenagers rushed through the halls.

"It's just past this," Nick pulled them against the wall, letting a barrage of ninth graders through, "corner here." He turned the corner and gestured lavishly at the door, "And here we are!"

"Interesting decor," Kat remarked, surveying the interior of the room. "Early Halloween?"

Nick laughed, "It's from Legends Of Valimor. Our teacher likes the series a lot."

"You must be Kat," A woman said, walking towards them. "I'm Ms. Potter, nice to meet you."

"Likewise," Kat nodded, "Your room is quite... decorated."

Potter laughed, "It is, isn't it?" She looked around, the mini model of the Valimor solar system dangling from the ceiling, the multitude of posters and books, and the bulletin board of quotes all showed how much the teacher liked books. "I was afraid it was a bit much."

"It's not too much," Kat answered, "It's just very different from the rest of this bland colored building." She considered her words, "Well, the drama room isn't too bad either. It may just be the exterior and the halls."

Nick snorted, "Yep," he gestured over to a table—and by 'table', he meant a island of desks. "Come with me, Kat." He walked over and sat down.

"Hi," Kat sat down tentatively.

"Guys, this is Kat." Nick said, "She's new, so I offered to show her around."

"Cool," a girl with a purple headband waved, "I'm Allie," she pointed her thumb at the blonde girl next to her, "this is Princess."

The blonde elbowed Allie, "Excuse tech-brain here, my name is Maggie."

Kat smiled at their antics, "Hi! I'm Katerina, Kat for short."

"The one who is completely oblivious to everything," he pointed to a familiar brunette. "That's—"

"Valorie!" Kat exclaimed, pouncing on her friend like she usually does.

Her first and best friend look up with surprised eyes, her book falling out of her hands.

"I missed you!" Kat hugged her. "First you leave me for a year and a half, and then you leave again!"

"...E–Eh?!" Valorie stuttered, pushing Kat off of her. "W–Who?"

"Valorie, it's me!" Kat said in a dejected voice. Why was she pretending to not recognize me? She wondered, tilting her head in confusion.

"Who the hell are you??" Valorie got up with a look of shock on her face. "You don't just go touching people you don't even know, child! I've never seen you in my entire life!"

"W–What...?" Kat said in puzzlement. "But you talked to me this morning." She paused, "Valorie, are you feeling okay?"

"The hell I did!" Valorie backed away from her.

"Yes, you did," Kat shook her head. "Silly girl! You were reading in your bed and I was on the floor. Then you were all like, 'Ever thought about how people considered Washington to be a hero, even though he technically started the French-Indian war?' and I was all like 'No, not really, but since you're talking about it, then sure!'"

"Wah... huh?" Valorie stared at her incredulously.

"Yeah! And then you said, 'And even though Andrew Jackson was considered a war hero, he was the cause of the mass murdering of the Native Americans,' and then I agreed with, 'BLOOD!'" Kat smiled sweetly at Valorie. "Don't you remember?"
