~Kat~
"The cast list came out!" Nick exclaimed, looking up from his phone. He and Kat were sitting on the couch a week after auditions while the others played 'dress up' (costumes).
"Ooh!" Kat glanced up from Legends Of Valimor, closing he book and placing it back on Valorie's bookshelf. "Who got what?"
Nick glanced at the list, "I'm so glad that Principal Carr saw reason and didn't force Lawrence to let everyone that auditioned in."
"So?" Kat shook Nick's arm, "Tell me!"
"In the role of Young Emily," Nick paused to hold suspense, "is Lucy!"
"Does she know?" Kat took out her own phone (Sadie and her had gone shopping over the past weekend) and opened the theatre group chat. She saw a flood of texts appear after Nick sent the screenshot of the cast list.
"Do you want to just read it yourself, or do you want me to tell you?" Nick asked, glancing at her.
"Just the relevant ones," Kat answered, propping her head up on her hands. "Anyone we know?"
"Let's see..." Nick scrolled through the list, "Ian—you know Ian—? Ian got Young Graham."
"Nice."
"Maggie got Mystica!" Nick announced. "Both the sisters got leads, huh? Very nice."
"Wouldn't it make more sense for a Senior to get Mystica?" Kat asked sceptically.
"The seniors of this year were pretty much just piggybacking off of last year's." Nick said, "They never got major roles, so they don't know how."
"Ah," Kat nodded, "So Maggie is now Lucy's... mother?"
"Apparently," Nick tiredly massaged his temples. "We're off to a splendid, incesterous start." He returned to the cast list, "Who else, who else?"
An incoming text caught Kat's eye, "You got Old Gaius!" She exclaimed in excitement, "Congratulations!"
"I did?" Nick frantically scrolled to where his name was. "I did!"
"Yay!" Kat giggled, "You shall be the precognitive best friend of Alex!"
Nick smiled, searching along the list for Kat's name. He gasped, "Guess what you got?"
"Chorus member three?" Kat asked dryly.
"No," Nick laughed, "You got Emily!"
Kat's eyes widened. Her purple eyes had caused some problems at school, so she had shifted them into a human brown color. "Wait, I thought that Lucy—"
"Old Emily," Nick interrupted, "You are older version of Lucy."
"Hm," Kat raised an eyebrow, turning her hair blonde. "How's this?" She smirked, tossing her new ringlets over her shoulder.
"You look weird." Nick stated, picking up a strand of golden hair. "Also, I'm pretty sure Emily's a brunette."
"So would my regular hair work?" A brush of hand caused for Kat's hair to return to its regular black. "Is my hair too short?" She glanced down at her shoulder-length hair.
"Nah," Nick shrugged, "You haven't finished reading the series, have you?"
"Not yet," Kat answered, holding up the third book. "Nearly, though."
"So—" Nick paused, "Wait, this might count as a spoiler. What part are you at?"
"The part where we find out that Alex is actually the heir for the Juno ladyship—lordship—? and she goes to the war negotiations." Kat said excitedly, "I can't believe that she's kind of royalty and hid it so well!"
