Chapter Eight: Time Doesn't Change Everything
POV: Seungri

I'm at the refreshments with Taeyang and G, who is extremely anxious. I would put money on it already being six and we weren't even halfway through the interview.
"I'm pretty sure they'll only ask you a few more questions, and I'll try to make my interview brief." Taeyang tells G, trying to console him. I nod my head in agreement.
He sighs and runs his hand through the short fluff of his hair. "Yeah thanks, but who knows if I'll get another chance with Dara if I'm late tonight?" I would like to believe his tone is sharper than he intended but he really doesn't do anything to fix it. I get that he's just letting out his pent up frustration, but it still stings the way he speaks.
"She should already know how celebrity life works." I remind him edgily.
"So? How is that an excuse?"
"She knows you can't change an interview date."
"Well then I should have changed the time of our date." G quotes what he believes Dara would say.
I sigh and realize there's no easing an on-edge G-Dragon. I grab a muffin and munch on it while sorta sitting on the corner of the table. TOP and Dae are coming over to us and I nod as they get close.
TOP sighs. "I hope this is over soon."
"Same." G says almost curtly. Dae, completely ignoring the mood G is setting off, smiles and nudges him.
"Oh? So you can get to you date?"
"If there's still one by the time we get done." He mutters darkly.
"I'm sure she'll wait for you, G!" Dae does his best to cheer him up.
"I wouldn't expect her to wait long; she'd probably think that I stood her up."
"I don't see why the date is more important than making a good impression on this show. I just wish it wouldn't take so long to leave that impression." TOP said to G. His face went from disbelief to irritation in a second.
"Even someone that avoids me as much as you do should realize that I've liked Dara for a while and tonight is finally my chance to tell her."
"I don't avoid you." TOP and G are getting into it. Again. Only this time, it's in public.
"Guys..." Taeyang tries to mediate between the two.
"I don't mind that you don't like my company but don't be upset that I actually want a social life." G left it at that and we quickly had to rush back to our seats as the bell rang to say the show was back on.
I could see TOP fuming. Dae kept worried eyes on him but I knew that he would have TOP calm by tomorrow. I focused of G and hoped he didn't being the negativity to the interview. Surprisingly, he looked very calm as we all settled in.
Kimi smiles warmly at everyone. I'm sure the rest of the interview will go well, except for perhaps TOP's interview.
"So, where did we leave off?"
"You were asking me some questions." G says politely, while slightly raising his hand and increasing aegyo by about ten.
"How would you want to go?" Chanyuk says suddenly.
"What?" Dae says quickly. He looks so shocked it's comical. The face he wears reminds me of the drama parodies we use to do and how bad he was at acting.
Chanyuk, laughing hard like the rest of us, raises his hands in defense. "Not like death. Not like death." He has to take a few breaths to explain himself. "I mean like, when you get called away. How would you spend your last bit of time before going away - to the military."
"Oh," G chuckles slightly. "I would probably hang out with these boys and eat a lot of food and dance and make them do karaoke with me."
It sounds so simple, it makes me smile. It's what G would do at anytime - nothing special or fancy. "I would like to make Ri stay up all night and watch Running Man with me."
I turn my head and let out an exasperated sigh. "He loves that show so much!! It seems funny but I can't watch watch a show."
Kimi turns to me, and it's obvious we've moved on to my section of the interview. "What do you mean watch watch? You can't do anything but watch a show!"
I flail for the correct words to explain for a second. "I mean...like follow a show. I only watch episodes - not seasons. They obsess but I just can't get into it."
I hear the others groan and I realize "obsess" shoved my foot in my mouth. I redden slightly, already stumbling through my interview. Great.
