Rosie's POV

What!?

No.

It can't be true.

This book must be flawed.

I got up from my seat quickly then instantly regretted it.

I'm still sore.

I pulled out my book.

There must be a spell for pain.

I flipped through the pages until I found a spell.

"Meus dolor auferat." I said the words on the page.

It felt weird at first but then my body began to relax.

I stood up again and this time felt no pain.

I looked through the shelves for another werewolf book.

I grabbed a random one and skimmed through all the pages.

My heart skipped a beat when I read a line in the book

Mates a precious to werewolves, they can't live without them.

I closed the book and looked through the shelves again.

The History of Mates.

I grabbed it and read it.

Mates have been around as long as the Moon Goddess has.

A werewolf can find their mate as soon as they shift.

Mates are loved and cared for because you only get one.

However, if one refuses to be true to their one and only mate, there is a way to reject them.

I closed the book and stopped reading.

I rubbed my face with my hands.

Jonathan lied to me.

And Moon picked him for me.

I didn't get to chose who I loved.

No, Moon picked someone for me.

'Did you two know about this?' I asked Valentine and Circe.

'Rosie we only know what you know.' Circe responded.

'We are upset too.' Said Valentine.

I walked out of the library and went to my bedroom.

I closed the door and locked it.

I felt something wet roll down my cheek.

I was crying. Or more like sobbing.

I wasn't upset that mates were real.

I was upset because Jonathan had lied to me. Repeatedly.

I heard a knock at my door.

I quickly wiped away my tears and opened my door.

David was there holding a cell phone.

"Hey David, what's up?" I said.

"Your grandma is on the phone. It's important." He handed me the phone.

I took the phone from him

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"Honey." I heard my Grandmas voice on the other line.

"Listen." I heard coughing.

"Grandma? Are you ok?" I asked.
