Platonically / Romantically: 10/10
I absolutely adore this ship!! I began shipping it when I first watched SVTFOE a couple years back, and I still love it. Star's crush on Marco is adorable, and I love how she blushes around him. He's actually blusheed around her once in season 3, I believe, so that hints that this ship is becoming canon in the future.
And no, I'm not saying that because I'm a toxic Starco shipper. In fact, I'm not one of them. I'm a respectful Starco shipper that doesn't bash anyone for shipping Jarco, Stackie, StarTom, Ostar...the list goes on. I actually ship those mentioned ships as well, and they hold a special place in my heart along with Starco (my top OTP).
Star and Marco's friendship is really well written, and I love how they team up together to save Mewni and Earth from the villain's plans earlier on in the show. Things have changed quite a bit, since Star has to deal with the chaos after Toffee was finally defeated (Yes, I watched bits and pieces of the first episode/movie of Season 3. It was really good). So she isn't with Marco as much as she is anymore. Feel free to correct me since I haven't seen Season 3 yet. I'm still halfway through season 2.
I will have to give some things I don't like about the part of the Starco fandom, however.
The majority of them are toxic and hate on Jarco, mainly, because it became canon before Starco. Well, guess what? The main ship isn't just going to become canon after a couple seasons. It will take a long time for them to finally be official in the series, and the writers don't want to rush that. Yes, they hinted it a lot in Season 2 with it being one-sided, but they're not going to make it canon just because the rabid fans want it to.
Also, it's good to have other ships in there with the main characters as to not rush the main ship - StarTom, Ostar, and Jarco. That way, the storyline isn't rushed just to make a ship canon, and it can pace through easily.
And I have to say that Jarco shouldn't get much hate. It's an amazing ship! I ship it equally with Starco. I described my rant on the ship war between Starco and Jarco in my Shipping Rants and Discussions book.
In conlusion, this is my top OTP for the series, and I just love them together!! I respect people who don't ship it, though. (I didn't intend for this to be an essay XD)
