'What' she stammered.
'Shoes on the roof or do as I say'
'Leave her man' his friend interjected.
'Stay out of it bro' he said sharply, pushing him aside roughly.
She started to back off down the stairs but she had only got two steps down before he leant over the bannister and grabbed her.
Yanking her back up the stairs with one hand and holding her shoes in the other, he started towards the open window.
'MATE JUST LEAVE IT' shouted his friend.
Turning to glare at him and then back to glare at her, he threw her shoes in to the corner and let go of her so abruptly that it was almost a shove and she teetered dangerously close to the edge of the stairs.
Grabbing hold of the hand rail for safety, she turned to glare resentfully at him and respectfully tried to steal a glance at his friend.
Before running downstairs again, wishing to be home.
