John Smith and Pete Tyler were about five minutes away from home. They had at first made small talk but it was a six hour car journey and the conversation had just withered. Pete was driving and for all John knew thinking of his wife Jackie. John was definitely thinking of his wife Rose. Rose, just hearing the name made him smile. It was going to be even better to see her because he'd been away for ten days. Although everyday he had thought of her...
The car pulled into the driveway of their home, and "John. John. Look, it's the TARDIS!" John turned to look at where Pete was pointing. "Oh my god Pete. You're right. Come on!"
They ran inside as fast as they could, hearing voices coming from the kitchen area, they headed there straight away. "Rose! Rose! He's here! The Doctor, he's here. The TARDIS is parked outside!" John yelled running towards the kitchen. He turned a corner and the first thing he saw was the Doctor. The Doctor looked at him and waved his hand. "Hello, me!" John slumped into the nearest seat, he was catching his breath from all the running hed just done, at that moment Pete ran in. The Doctor looked at Pete, "Hello!" Pete just carried on looking disbelievingly at the Doctor. The Doctor turned to Rose and whispered, "Blimey, I think I've stunned them into silence." Rose burst out laughing and a brief loving look, glanced across the Doctor's face. But it was gone in an instant, no point in showing his emotions. Especially not when he couldn't act on them. She is married, he reminded himself. She is happy and married, that was all the Doctor had ever wanted for her. Wasn't it?
He turned his attention back to John and Pete, he looked at them. John was sat down, Pete was stood up. "This is going to be awkward, what with you being called Doctor aswell. Oh well, we'll manage. So first things, first. Let's find out why the TARDIS brought me here." John got up and looked at the Doctor, it was like looking in the mirror. "Doctor, my name is John. John Smith. I wouldn't really fit in round here if I was called The Doctor, would I?" The Doctor turned to Rose, " I think, correct me if I'm wrong, which I rarely am, I just got told off."
