Rose had shown the Doctor the spare bedroom they had and he had declared that it wasn't quite Delta 5 standard but it would do. They were now sat down in the kitchen. The Doctor and Rose trying to explain to everyone just how bad this was. All of a sudden the Doctor exclaimed, "Rose! You work for Torchwood don't you?" She looked tentatively at him, then she quietly answered, "Yeah." She knew how much he hated it.
"Brilliant, I can use their equipment to find out what's going on. Rose, you're a genius!"
Within an hour they were on their way to Torchwood. Although she took this journey everyday today it felt different, Rose didn't know whether it was because the Doctor was here or because she was back investigating and saving the world with him. Maybe even both.
When they got there they were striding towards the gates that protected this alien artifact filled building, the guard clearly recognised Rose but still waited for her to show her ID card. He then handed the Doctor a visitor badge with strict instructions that it must be worn at all times, once Rose had explained the Doctor was with her. As they were walking towards Rose's office the Doctor said, "I couldn't help but notice that your ID card said Rose Smith." She just carried on walking. "But what's confusing me is the fact it says Rose Smith when you surname is Tyler. I mean, I should know, you travelled with me for two years." By this time, they had arrived at Rose's office, she got the key out of her pocket and unlocked the door.
As they were walking in she said, "See, that's where you're wrong."
The Doctor looked at her slightly confused then said "Where is where I'm wrong?"
"You are wrong because my name is Rose Smith, used to be Tyler, now Smith. You see, that half-human version of you that you left me with had to change his name from the Doctor otherwise he wouldn't have fitted in. So, like you do, he changed it to John Smith. Then when we got married, I became, Rose Smith."
The Doctor gave her a soft, sweet look. "You're married? I can't believe it. You! Married!"
"I don't know why you can't believe it. You knew it was going to happen. That's why you left John with me."
"I know, but still. You're my Rose, now you're married." The Doctor gave himself a mental shake. "Anyway, time to work!"
"Yeah, umm. You can use any facilities we have, if anyone asks for security clearance just mention my name and you'll be fine. I'm going, back to check on you in a bit. Bye!"
"Okay, bye."
"Oh and Doctor?"
"Yep?"
"Welcome to my world!" She said then walked off with a smile.
