He brought her into the dinning room and had her lay down on the table under the lights.

"are you going to sacrifice me now?" she asked. He leaned over her to inspect her stomach.

"no, only beautiful virgins make the list." She smacked the back of his head. He threw a grin at her, then left the room. he came back moments later with a rather large first aid kid,

"what are you going to do?" she asked, as she watch him open it and pull out gauze, rubbing alcohol, peroxide and a cloth.

"clean the wounds. See how deep it is." He said and proceeded to pour the alcohol on her stomach.

She cursed. "thank you for the warning." She snarled.

"don't be such a baby." She stared up at the ceiling while he cleaned the cuts.

"where is everyone?" she asked.

"they are making their way back from the woods. Are you scared to be alone with me?" he taunted.

"the only thing I'm scared of is your lack of humor." She said dryly. She winced as he rubbed a sore spot.

"good news is the wounds are just superficial. They don't require stitching, or even a Band-Aid. But the punctures look deeper, but probably only need a band aid."

"then why was there so much blood?" she asked.

"it was probably because of the lining of the uterus. Much more blood is centered there, kind of like your head. One scratch and you'll be looking like Carrie." She looked at him.

"wow, Dr. Patch. Tell me, where did you get your doctorate? The bottom of a count chocula box?"

He helped her sit up, and she swung her legs over the edge. "my moms a nurse, smart ass. I learned a thing or two." She rolled her eyes.

"Well aren't we the good student." She said and slipped off the table. She winced as her injured leg caught her, but other then that it was fine. "so, lets grab your keys, and blow this popsicle stand." She started off towards the door then stopped when she realized he wasn't following her. she turned to see him rise an eyebrow.

"where do you think we are going?" he asked.

"your taking me home." She stated.

"no, I'm not. You are going to come back here, sit your ass down and I'm going to get you some food." She crossed her arms.

"oh, I am, am I?"

"while I am probably right about your condition, we should wait until my mother comes in to get her to check you."

"then you will take me home?"

"not going to happen sunshine. Your all alone in your apartment, which Jake knows by the way, making you an easy target. At least here, you have people surrounding you, protecting you."

"I don't need your protection." She said stubbornly.

"well," he snorted. "you need something." She glared at him.

"I don't need anything from you." She turned around and went up the stairs, and remembering where Patch's room was, she entered and locked the door.

She turned around and studied Patch's den.

So, this was where he hid most days. She went over to his large king bed. Black sheets and blanket. How original.

But the frame was beautiful. A dark rich mahogany. She started walked around in his room. it was as big as her whole apartment. It was clean, with a desk on the far wall, a closet taking up the whole of the opposite wall.
