Sara woke to a searing pain in her head. She groaned and blinked open her eyes. She felt odd, like gravity has shifted.

She opened her eyes all the way, as she looked around.

Well, she didn't scratch his truck. The thought came from no where, and it wasn't actually funny. The truck was totaled. She gasped and looked beside her.

They where upside down, hanging from their seatbelts. Patch was unconscious beside her, his arms hanging down limply, his eyes closed.

"Patch?" she whispered horsely. "Alex?" she heard a small sniffle.

"Sara? Are you alive?" Alex whispered from the back.

"I'm right here, baby." She assured, and slowly, groggily, she fumbled with her seatbelt, and she fell onto the roof, broken glass cutting her palms. She hissed, the pain finally registering, and she had a feeling her arm was more then just cut.

She had to bite her lip from screaming as she put weight on it. She curled it up to her chest and tried to push open her door. It wouldn't budge.

"Sara?" Alex called, frightened.

"its ok, baby. I'm right here. I'm coming to get you. Are you able to get your seatbelt off?" she said, trying to find a way to get out. Her eyesight was fuzzy, her glasses gone.

She turned and kicked the window. The rest of the glass flew off. She was worried Patch hasn't woken up yet, and fear flowed threw her heavily. But she needed to focuse on getting Alex out, then Patch.

Bracing for more lashes, she squeezed herself out of the busted truck, and fell on grass. She took deep breaths of fresh air, got her barrings, and reached into the truck, trying to push the seat forward. It went selvral inches, just enough for Alex to wiggle out, and Sara caught her before she could fall onto the glass.

They collapsed on the ground.

She took a second to make sure she didn't have any serious injuries, before crawling into the truck again.

"Patch." She said, trying to clear out the glass. she reached for his neck trembling.

There. a pulse. Thank god. She fiddled around his lap for the seatbelt, and released it. He fell, his head hitting the ground. She winced, but she needed ot get him out. The smell of gas was increasing. She wrapped her arms under his arms and slowly pushing them out with her feet.

"come on Patch, wake up." she whispered. She crawled out first, then pulled him out.

Alex helped by taking an arm and they dragged him off a couple feet from the truck. The sound of sirens reached her, and she sagged in reliefe.

The ambulance is coming. She leaned over Patch and cupped his face. He had a really bad cut above his eyebrow, which was bleeding profusely.

"Patch, wake up." she pleaded. He didn't. she felt for a pulse again. There wasn't one.

Her heart bottomed out.

"Patch!" she shouted, franticly trying to find a heartbeat. "Alex, I need you to help put your hands like this, right here, and start pushing." She ordered, holding Alex's hands over his heart, and demonstrating compressions. Her face was pale, her eyes unfocused, but she nodded. "count to thirty."

While Alex did the compressions, after thirty, Sara tipped his head back and gave him mouth to mouth.

She tasted copper. She pulled back and wiped the blood from her lip, and nodded for Alex to continue.
