Chapter 7

I get woken up by a message, it was my mum.

'Hey mum'

'Hey honey I just called to tell you I will be here to pick you up in 2 hours'

'Mum can I ask you something?'

'Sure go on'

'Mum is it possible if I could stay a little longer please'

'And why is that honey?'

'I met a boy his name is Matt, he's parents abandoned him and I feel bad for leaving him'

'Well if you really want to stay I will let you stay for 1 more week'

'Thank you mum I love you'

'I love you too'

I locked my phone and went downstairs, I saw a note on the table saying.

'I went to school, I left you breakfast on the table have a good day. I love you

-Matt'

I started smiling like an idiot, I would do anything to stay here with him forever.

I ate the breakfast and went to get dressed. I put on a random top and a pair of jeans. I put my hair up in a high pony tail and added a pink bow to it.

I sat in the garden and started scrolling through my Instagram. Out of nowhere I get a call from an unknown number. I decided to pick up thinking it could be Matt or one of the teachers.

"Hello?" I say

"Hello is this Erica?" The unknown caller says.

"Yes it's me" I say starting to feel worried.

"Could you please come to the hospital?"

"Why?"

"I'm afraid I can't give out any information but it's about a boy called Matthew Espinosa, you were the first person on his contact list.

My heart stopped when they said his name.

Matthew Espinosa.

Matt's in hospital?

No no he can't he's at school.

"I'm on my way." I say and hang up, quickly racing out of the house with tears trickling down my face.

I just hope he's okay.
